I haven't heard or read anything that mentioned this but I was just wondering. MW2 and MW3 allowed 4 total players or 2 vs. 2. MW4 allowed 16 total players or 8 vs. 8. MPBT 3025 allowed for 8 total players or 4 vs. 4. So in your mind what would you feel the minimum would be for allowed players in MWO? At least 16 total or does it have to be more? And if it was less would you be ok with it if say it allowed 12 players but had superb damage modeling and the gameplay was excellent? Or should it allow more than 16 players?

I'd suggest 12 v 12 not 16 v 16 ... so there should be another option ...

Controlling more than 4 Lances from the Command Mech becomes a logistical Nightmare, assuming we will have team voice over headset between teams in game and not via 3rd party software.

Gameplay should be 12vs12 IMHO. Thats the usual in-lore size of a IS combat unit (yeah, I know that most units are batallions, but for actual combat most are working on a company level).
It would also be a good size later when the clans are added. Binary vs Company (10vs12) sounds fair to me.

I'm assuming that there won't be a restriction on merc-company size, from what I'm getting from this, it seems this is going to be run along the lines of a fairly open MMO, rather than a COD style game of paintball. After all, where's the fun in taking out a group of mechs the same size and distribution as your own company... I know I'd prefer to have a crack at large scale fights, rather than just company sized engagements.
My vote goes therefore to No Restriction (server and company capacity to determine).
If that's the case, then I would hope to be able to band together with some mates and take down a regiment in an orgy of ER-ppc and light gauss rounds.

Company level, so 12vs12 is fine for now. The engine probably can handle Battalion level anyway. Although I would love to see regimental level... of course that would also need HUGE maps.

The dark arts of necromancy are forbidden!
...besides we already know 12v12 is where they're going and in all likelihood, staying
