whare is the hit processing for the game being dun in the client or the server whare the game is based if it is the server could this be the cause of the slow game experience as surely it is better to hav everyone's client doing this if it is the server well it is not surprising the fps slows down as the server tries to calculate 16 players fire input and render the world times this by unnown number of matches and we hav a data crunching nightmare if you are the server trying to compensate for every players diferent time stamp pigs and dispay in real time perhaps duing this in the client would be better way more processing power

eve online had a same problem when it first started the solution was a single shard server and client processing

i do not no if it is the client or server/s any thaughts

Hit registration is server-side.

Everything is done server-side so they maintain control over the system.

I think, by reading your previous posts, you have no idea how client/server verification works. or programming in general. or what a shard/server farm really works as.
You have a little knowledge of the subject, and try to apply it to broad subjects.
A little knowledge is more dangerous than a lot when trying to infer it to situations to fix it.

And eve still does server proccessing of hit/damage calcuations. always has. try getting in a fight in eve, losing your connection and 'lag' fighting for 30 seconds..not one shot shows as hitting and doing damage, because the server can't tell you that they did.

simply asking the question i never claimed to be an expert just looking for solutions seems to me this community is full of abusiv trols who get thare kiks from having a go at others post rather that trying to provide information that helps

By keeping things server side, they make it much harder for client side hacks.

No I was stating that how you got into detail about how its done, and what it entails. when you was way off. Even your explanation of what the steps are, and whats done each time you fire wasnt even remotely close to how server side verification works.
I Dont get my kicks by "having a go at other posts, instead of posting useful information". I was pointing out you was not only not giving 'useful' information, you was giving wrong information.

So how am I 'trolling' by pointing out you was no where remotely close to the right 'explanation' of the problem?

Merely implying do not try to explain things you dont understand..as those that don't know anything about it, may take it as true. Then we'd have MORE threads about how to 'fix it' pointing out things that aren't facts to start with as the problem.

*takes out broom*

Thats it, get out.

Shoo. Shoo.

You can't even write a sentence, let alone understand the complex nature of client/server authentication. Having these systems under the client's control leads to aimbots and wall hacks and diety knows what else people can do with the client.

Spoiler

Everybody here in the forum have a doctorate degree in the technology field, so we know what we're talking about.

I beg to differ

If it makes you feel better to think so, so be it.
Some guy i never met, on some game forum calling me a troll doesnt really bother me.
hell I will even agree that you think I'm a troll. and acknowledge it if anyone asks me "does Sid think you troll him?"
