Just fought a river colony map where I couldn't see a jenner from 150 M. Without the FoF indicator I would not have even been able to find him.
I know they want to discourage cross map sniping but I'd very much like to fight some maps without having to use thermal to see targets. Increase contrast or brightness or something!

I support this. With the glowing cockpit, auto-darkening glass, smoke from damaged parts, and the constant explosions and cockpit shake, its hard enough to see as it is.
But I suspect this is another of those things they can't fix until they implement DX11. Which, unfortunately, isn't even on the Features Roadmap yet.

The ICE MAP is FUBAR too since they introduced the Stupid BLOOMS, we can turn it off, the Stupid Film noire as well... All we can do is turn on Heat or Night to make sense, even not HEAT vision is FUBAR too ! everything thats suppose to be light blue are all BLACK.....

Weird... Forgot what I did but... I don't even have film grain now. Everything is clear.

For the film-grain effect, two things: first, make sure you're running the game at your monitor's native resolution. Running it lower than that, even at the same aspect ratio, causes a fuzziness to the game that looks awful. Second, disable Post Processing in advanced video options; doing so disables the distance haze and general murkiness of the game.

I agree. The constant murkiess/fog on all maps is quite annoying. Combine that with the fact that the game has a very very limited color palette, and the few colors that we see looks extremely washed out and it makes the mechs very hard to see on most maps.
I really hope that the graphics are improved with DX11. And I'm not talking about texture quality here. The texture quality is fine. And so is the weapon effects (which I think is really good). But the colors of the terrain and the murkiness...Ugh!
