I'm getting a bit annoyed that my UAC5 always seem to jam more often than not. Rapid fire, regular fire, or just slow fire, it appears as (at least when I play), this is another one of the "random" roll of the dice when they get jammed.

I'm all for having that be part of the game. But I would really encourage some mechanism for the jammed UAC5 to become freed up.

Here's a couple of suggested:

1) Provide an automatic time out, maybe 30-60 seconds. Then the weapon is usable again.
2) Require a mech "shutdown" in order for the weapon to be usable again.

Again, I'm all for having some random jams, but it almost always happens to me, to the point of wondering if it is a bug rather than a feature. If it's done be design, than not having an option to get your weapons unjammed is a very unfortunate state of the game.

I agree it needs a timer on it, and needs to be less random, mine often jams on the first shot, NOT FUN.
I would suggest a 12 second cool down though,

Ultra AC2 (if other Ultra AC's get implemented) could be 6 seconds, UAC10 18 seconds and UAC20 24 Seconds.

I look forward to Rotary AC's myself

You do know you can unjam the UAC/5 pretty quickly right? If you didn't know how, you have to cycle through all the firing groups and turn them on and off to unjam the gun. I can usually unjam 2 UAC/5s in 10 seconds and that's being generous.

Yeah it sucks to try to do in the middle of a fire fight but that's the risk you take to double shot (50% chance). If I know I'm going in to rumble I'll often set mine to chain-fire mode and that all but eliminates the jamming.

yes, you can unjam it that way, and people are abusing this with macros, we need a better system. At the current point i even think cooldowns are a better system than this one, which gives players with macro keyboards or a better understanding of how to implement macros asignificant advantage.

Before anyone cries: I have a macro keyboard myself and i know how to use it

Add an internal cooldown of 1 second to change a specific weapon's weapon group. You could quickly assign/un-assign multiple weapons from one group, but would take 6-7 seconds at minimum to unjam a UAC/5.

I like having to manually unjam the gun.

this is also a good idea i guess.

On the downsie, people using macros can still take advantage, because they just start their macro and then focus on different things again, but they would still need time for it.

Hey, thanks for the comments. Did not know about the manual unjamming technique. Looks like the latest patch addresses this by having weapons un-jam automatically. Good to know that some things we desire are also on the devs radar.
