So between the patch on the 6th and the hotfix for about 1 day the srm spread with artemis was very nice. Clustered like they were in early CBT. Since then I notice absolutely no difference between artemis and no artemis for srm6. Anyone else agree?

Artemis Does Not Seem To Do Anything For Srms

Agree, was good until recent, no difference now apart from ammo cost.

agreed... i removed them from my fatlas due to lackluster performance... lasers still better
i think the main problem with SRMs/LB10x is that they spread damage around when there is no advantage to do so... this game rewards putting all your damage in one place and punishes those who do not... the exception is LRMs... because of their long range, you can often do damage to enemies without taking damage yourself, so having the damage dealt as spread is a fair tradeoff... with SRMs and being in short range, the tradeoff is horrible... why would i put 2 damage 6 different places around a mech, IF they all hit, when i can just put 5,8,10, or whatever damage all in one place... in a kill or be killed short-range environment, being able to place all the damage in one place is life saving...
to make SRMs good they are going to have to give them a niche... if they were somehow able to make them potent against lights, as no weapon system really is right now, i would arm them in an instant.

Yea artemis is pretty much a waste of tonnage for SRMs right now.

Yeah I just scrapped Artemis on all my atlases as well. Don't notice any difference. I'll buy it again when it actually does something but right now its just a waste of tons and crits.

100% disagree, dunno what game you guys are playing but my SRMs don't spray.

Gonna have to disagree that there is no difference, although I do wish that Artemis simply made the missiles behave like they did in early closed beta. And Streaks are so stupid right now that regular SRMs really need the accuracy boost to even compete.
All weekend I leveled 3 Atlases - 1 RS with upgrades including Artemis, and 1 DC and 1 D that had no upgrades since I only planned to max out basic efficiencies on them. All 3 used gauss/medium lasers/SRMs. The difference was very, very noticeable and I could accurately place my artemis SRMs on center torsos (at certain distances) whereas the regular ones just went all over the place. I'd make a video of this but I already sold the other Atlases unfortunately. I regret selling the DC already because I wanted to try dual UAC5 on it, so maybe I'll grab another one once I'm done with Cataphracts.
Now, Artemis is not worth it on faster mechs like the Jenner since you're probably right up everything's tailpipe anyways. I like it on my Hunchback, but either works and my friend who plays Centurions never uses Artemis.
Note: I have not played my Atlas since the Cataphract patch, so if you're referring to a more recent change then I'll have to investigate.
