Hi guys,
http://mwomercs.com/...hen-installing/
If you are experiencing this, the general guide is to re-install everything (installation client/directX/.NET etc) using administrator right, and turn off anti-virus. I even changed the ethernet cable/driver/setting manual MTU for over a dozen times and it never work for me. I googled for everything about corrupted file download and none of the solutions works.
So one day it hits me that perhaps my anti-virus wasn't really shut down/disabled properly. I use ESET Security Suite 6 which scan into all the compressed file format. it turned out that I need to give the mwonline client administrative rights (within the anti-virus) to do whatever it wants in order to unpack the .rar file properly. I suspect that the mwonline client and anti-virus didn't agree on something while unpacking the files and decided to leave some residue and cause a mismatch in hash.
I had the closed beta key but wasn't able to play until open beta. I hope this post help you in solving the annoying problem.

Finally Found The Root Cause: Md5 Hash Error Appears When Installing

I don't have an anti-virus program period and I still get this error. I have tried removing all traces of MWO and reinstalling, changing the install directory and nothing seems to work.

Actually, you should just check your brandmauer.
Either turn it off completely while patching, or add all MWO exe's, that you will find in the game's folder to allowed for incoming and outgoing traffic.
And there is no need in reinstalling .NET or the game at all.

Hmmm had this problem before, and had overcome it, either through sheer dogged persistence or using admin rights (can't remember). Have since re-installed in the game in an effort to combat the silly amounts of CTD's I have been experiencing since the ECM patch and am now unable to patch the game due to the MD5 error.
I am on my 5th attempt, this time having launched the game using admin rights - I will see if it works this time and post of it does.
Shame the patcher has to d/l the entire 1.1 Gig each time prior to it letting me know it is stuffed and then having to d/l the entire 1.1 Gig each retry...

Have been having this problem also. I have run all the "Fixes". I have run with and without firewall and antivirus. Why can't there be a full install file available? Why do I have to download the frontend and then have it muck up the download when it patches? At the very least offer seperate incremental files to patch with that we can download and install ourselves. Seems this would be the quickest way to fix this.
P.s. The workaround that says check your network connection, REALLY!! This is the only online program that I have any problems with.
