Is getting the last kill worth more than capping?
To me if there is one guy left and he is not a factor why kill him? Get the extra Exp and Money is much better.

You just need to run over the cap to get the bonus, I usually do that. Also killing is more fun and the capping takes more time, time which could be spent dropping into the next match.

It's about the same with kill, assist, and salvage.
I ususally go for the capture. It's senseless chasing a jenner around the map for 5 minutes trying to get the kill.
If there's one guy left and he's AFK, shoot his arms and one leg off, then cap. Max money.

better to kill. If you only have a couple of mechs near the enemy cap it's better to kill the final enemy and drop into the next match than waste time trying to get a cap.

I look at it more as get my whole team more exp by capping, rather than getting more exp just for me. These instances don't present themselves very often in PUGs so when they do I like to capitalize on them.
But that is just me. Most people go for the kill, which is fine too.

A Capture Win yields a bonus of 5k C-bills and 75 XP to all pilots in the victorious team, as well as a bonus of 2,5k Cbills and 50 XP to those directly involved with the base capture.
Destroying the last enemy 'Mech will render a variable (2,5-9k in my experience) Salvage bonus in C-bills to the entire team and 100 XP to the pilot whom deals the felling blow, not accounting for Component Destruction bonuses (also variable, but usually around 2-2,5k C-bills and 60-75 XP for each 'Mech arm, leg or side torso destroyed).
Killing can sometimes be more profitable than capturing.

I usually play Assaults so I don't really have much of a choice in the matter. If I'm closer to the cap than the last guy, I'll head to cap, if I'm closer to the last guy I'll hunt him down. If I have the speed to decide, I'll pick cap, usually taking out the last guy is a roflstomp, but sometimes he's mostly mint and has the firepower to oneshot everyone on the team since they're all mostly cored from fighting.
