The gun needs a 3 percent jam chance and a more punishing unjam. Period. This waffling is not good for the weapon or the game or the developers' reputations.

They should hire you.

25% sets the UAC/5 back to useless. In order of preference, from best to worst I'd like to see holding the fire button down result in:
  • The max safe rate of fire with no jam. Double click to double fire.
  • The max possible rate of fire with an increasing chance to jam for each double shot.
  • The current behaviour with a reduced jam chance and increased jam duration.
  • The current behaviour.
I would definitely use UAC/5 under option 1, and sometimes use it under option 2. (Not on Cataphract-4X builds, though.) I don't see options 3 or 4 as viable.

No it is not "an ok temporary fix" it is a bad temporary fix. I am not expecting RAC damage from a UAC, what I am expecting is more dps than a standard which is not being given, with the jam rate you get less than a regular AC5 in dps.

No you don't. If you use only the normal fire rate the UAC/5 has a higher DPS than the AC/5. If you use the double fire feature you get markedly higher front loaded DPS but risk a jam. Even without double firing the UAC/5 is a better weapon than the AC/5 (and has slightly better max range).

People need to stop thinking that the UAC/5 is a double RoF weapon, its a normal RoF weapon with a burst option.

The only change that is really needed is in how the double fire is triggered, having it happen when the button is held down is counter-intuitive as for other ballistics that just triggers a shot when the normal recycle is over, UAC/5 should operate at the base RoF for a single press or holding the button down but double fire when you double click.

Problem is it acts like a full auto only weapon that is unreliable as hell and the only way to fire it without it jamming is to feather the trigger.

I really don't get it why PGI cannot or will not add a simple random number generator with a fixed upper and lower chance ratio. Yes it should jam, but only once in a while. If it jams once after the second shot, maybe twice, that'll be bad luck. But everytime? It seems they're using raw number values (like "jam after min 2 max 4 shots") to determine the chance of jamming instead of percental ("jam with a chance between 15 and 35 percent" for instance).

Okay I gotta admit I'm far from beeing a math pro and I bet it shows (yeah keep on laughin ), so maybe someone with real understanding of numbers can help me out here. But even I see that the chance is simply TOO HIGH.
