Earlier this night, about... 3 hours ago? Had a slightly inebriated 2 lances go up against yours. Was a fun match with some awesome cave battles.

Unfortunate I was not present to participate. My pilots were actually not aware they had done battle with you. How did you know it was us?

Well we used our charateristic opening of GL HF EB from DHB, they claimed to be from Black Wolves, and went along to talk about hunting in packs, much like that. Perhaps you have impersonaters?

Turned out I asked the wrong pilots. A different group did engage your forces. Seemed to be an interesting battle.

Greetings, and thank you for your interest in the Black Wolves!

First off, I stress that this is a NON-CANON unit, we will be building a legacy all of our own. This is a good thing though, as the developers have stated that ownership of canon units is prohibited. Besides, who does not love the thrill of paving your own way and building your own legacy, instead of piggybacking on 30 years of fluff from the canon.

Summary:
If you have not already determined the fact from my name, I have always been an avid fan of Clan Wolf. As a result of the Clan Invasion being some time off in the future, this mercenary company is meant to be a haven for anyone who feels that the Clans are their only home and do not want to declare allegiance to any of the House factions. As a result the Black Wolves will use this company to train and learn together, forging into a cohesive unit BEFORE the invasion, allowing us to maximize our effectiveness on the field when that time comes. At this time we do not know what the unit structure in the Clans will be like, but we do know the Clans will be playable. When the invasion comes we will join the same Galaxy or Cluster within the Clan and remain a unit. If at all possible, we will create our own Cluster or Galaxy and go from there.

If the above summary sounds appealing to you, then allow me to explain what I am looking for in pilots:

- Preferably age 16 or older, although exceptions will be made for mature individuals.

- Proficient at piloting a wide variety of 'Mechs, with sound tactical sense, situational awareness, and capable of following orders.

- Skilled at operating as part of a unit, with good teamwork and respect for other pilots

- Understanding that the Black Wolves is primarily for training purposes and to pass the time waiting for entry into the Clans, while building a reputation for ourselves.

- A love of BattleTech! And if you are new and do not understand the lore, having a willingness to learn.

Combat Style:
The Black Wolves will operate under my Wolf Pack combat doctrine, which is based on two primary pillars:

- Flexibility : Not operating under the traditional formation of lances or stars, Wolves will be expected to be able to adjust the size and composition of their formations on-the-fly. While technically assigned to a particular lance, in the face of changing combat conditions Wolves may be swapped between separate commands, or even formed into new groups. To this extent, each Wolf is expected to be able to operate under any commander they may be given, which may include a current Lance Commander being rolled into a different lance, where they are expected to take orders, not give them. In reverse, all pilots are expected to be capable of command in the event that lance commanders are incapacitated, or if a new lance is formed.

- Lethality : Wolves will be expected to master both deadly coordinated fire in squads of any size or composition, and be lethal and efficient individually in single combat and when outnumbered. Individual lethality contributes to the effectiveness of the group as a whole, and a weakness in any one individual weakens the entire group, which is unacceptable. No, pilots are not expected to take down Assault 'Mechs with Lights. However, pilots are expected to learn how to operate their personal machines to maximum efficiency, while keeping a level head in combat.

JOINING:
If the above sounds like what you are looking to be a part of, then by all means please apply! We are open to hardened veterans and those looking at BattleTech with fresh eyes. All we ask is that you are dedicated to improving yourself, the Company, and the universe of BattleTech. To apply, copy the application form below and fill it out.

Preferred call-sign (If any): [similar to your MWO name or we will not use it.] Bellyranks or Belly for short
Experience (both TT and MW):None, save for MechAssault on Xbox, I did own Panzer Commander growing up as a tank game for PC. I play a lot of Warhawk PS3 game, which helps with teamwork and coordination if that counts as anything ;)
Preferred 'Mech class and roles: Heavy or Medium and some Assault, I like to brawl get up close and do some good old close quarters combat or CQC, I am learning to snipe and getting better at it to help with long range support. My preferred mechs are: Dragon(people may hate it, but god I love this mech), Awesome(imo its a less complicated Atlas), Catapult and Centurion
Tell us a little about yourself: I'm 22 live in Canada, I work fulltime to save up cash for college for me and my lil bro.I do get online quite a bit and I'm usually available on Fridays and Saturdays. I might not know much about the lore, but I do know of Mechwarrior growing up as a kid, and watched the hell outta the TV show, which is what got me generally aware of the series as well as reading up on the wiki on how weapons work, learning on factions and looking at the different types of mechs and their supposed purpose to incorporate that info into a active playstyle.
Questions and concerns: None really, save for how active do we have to be on the clan site? I do have tons of time to drop in and will, but I'm more of a lurker around new people, much more so being a outright noob to the series.

Hyper, we recognize that people mature at different speeds and physical age is but a general measure used to gauge this characteristic. As stated in our recruitment post:

"- Preferably age 16 or older, although exceptions will be made for mature individuals."

Although you may have to jump through a few more hoops to prove that you'll fit in along with the rest, this does not mean you should not try. If you would like to join us and would like to meet our members, please post a full application on our website: http://blackwolves.enjin.com/home

Preferred call-sign (If any): Freeride Forever

Experience (both TT and MW): No TT, MechWarrior 3, MechWarrior 4: Vengeance, MechWarrior 4: Black Knight, MechInsult (very, very briefly, but console adaptations don't really count do they?)

Preferred 'Mech class and roles: I'm a "happy medium/heavy" kind of guy. I figure the best way to be, in almost all situations, is balanced & versatile. So I'm usually in something that's not on either extreme end of the spectrum & I try to build it about as as fast as it can be, & as heavily armored as can be, & then apply weapons with the remaining tonnage, which is usually more than adequate for my combat approach. I favor trying to out flank opponents to give 'em a good hard pounding right up the ol' **** hole. I think proper balancing of a mech is easily as important as "skill" & even though I like to consider myself a sort of "jack of all trades, master of none" kind of person/pilot, I am more likely to make my mech into an extension of me, by finding the one that seems right for me, rather than keeping a huge stock of very different equipment. "Jack of all trades", "balanced", "happy medium" & "versatile" kinda screams Timber Wolf I suppose & that is the best way I know how to express myself if I can get my *** into one. Short of a Timber Wolf, I would favor something like the Cataphract, falling into the middle of the heavy range & able to mount JJ's. I also like the Mad Dog. I find a fast Awesome works well & I was also a fan of the Dai........... Dire Wolf if the arena seemed somewhat favorable. In most cases I want something that can get me outta trouble fast & get me behind the enemy close enough to get clear shots right up the *******. I may lose long range capability with that approach, but I hope speed & armor makes up for it. It's also uncommon for me to ever be in a mech that shuts down due to overheating. The more that is happening, the more serious the balancing issues are with my loadout & I won't have it happening in my machine if I can help it.

Tell us a little about yourself: I play lots of PC games, very much opposed to any kind of console gaming simply because I value versatility in everything, not just BattleMechs. So I play a lot of shooters & racing games on PC. I've never been a huge fan of anything multiplayer so this is a bit new to me. Aside from the odd racing game, MechWarrior is the only other game I've ever had much interest in playing online, but I'd rather play MechWarrior online than play any other game, online or off. I ride my bike a lot. All styles of riding (trials, trails, DJ, street, park). I currently have a busted up foot from a skatepark accident so I'm getting lots of MWO time in. I've always had an interest in technology, astronomy, paleontology & really anything that follows the scientific method. Everything's really just physics anyway right? I took manufacturing engineering in college along with an industrial maintenance course prior to that. My mechanical interests would be why I like MW so much I suppose. I'm not much of a leader or a follower, but in MWO, there is safety in numbers, & moreso in co-ordinated ones. I gave up my manufacturing job to try out fixing & flipping houses. I currently rent the last place I did & it sustains me just fine, so I should have quite a bit of time for MWO, especially with winter coming.

Questions and concerns: Do Black Wolves consider it blasphemy to call a Timber Wolf a Mad Cat?

Hey Freeride! Your app. looks good, just head on over to our site: http://blackwolves.enjin.com/home and register there to finalize the process. It's okay if you don't fill out the registration form since you already did here (or if you want to copy-paste that works too). Glad to have you in the pack.

Age: Old (Thanks Rayne)
*Timezone: EST
Preferred call-sign (If any): well, i prefer Zeke. easy to remember...
Experience (both TT and MW): old-school Battletech, MW3 & 4, Mercs
Preferred 'Mech class and roles: scout, fire support, assault. lights, mediums, and heavies. i like variety...
Tell us a little about yourself: working-class stiff trying to get into a group that loves to game, but doesnt take itself too seriously...
Questions and concerns: i'm afraid that if i don't get on here every night for 4 hours or more i will not be considered. ive already been kicked from one one group, and the game isnt even live yet...

Always a big Kerensky fan from the fluff, especially Natasha. Not a huge fan of the MW series, but ive been enjoying Mercs again recently. Purchased HOTAS stick and headset for this game, only to be booted for not attending training sessions. I do work full-time. sometimes 70+ hours a week. a little leniency would be appreciated...

Thank you for your consideration
