>round a corner
>see a stationery hunchback trying to hide
>open up with all my weapons, including two UAC5s
>they jam on the second volley
>hunchback just stands there and laughs at me for 15+ seconds while my UACs keep jamming and his reinforcements arrive to save him

Quality PGI balancing. Something is overpowered? Overnerf in a hotfix. Happened with LRMs, happened with UACs.

A sensible person would have increased jam chance from 10% to 15% and see how it worked out, not jump straight to 25%. Then again, we are talking about PGI here...

Oh and what happened to PGI's dislike of "winning or losing based on the RNG"? Jamming is obviously RNG based.

And I continue to murder the hell out of everyone with my twin UAC-5s - including some of those poor ******* lights, I think. Some people just can't get anything to work for them, really.

And it only took two posts for the gold effect to occur!

Not surprised really, as the game devolved into "UAC/5 online", as every mech from lights to assaults were mounting them.

Weiland, the italics is off-putting. Are you quoting someone, or stressing something, or just being kind of a douche? Also, your quote is offensive.

UAC5 jam chance of 25 percent is just unnecessary. They could have taken some time and done a real fix, something like a 3% jam chance and a longer unjam timer...then look at cockpit shake. Instead, they took the same route as Artemis. Slam massive downgrades on the equipment and call it 'right where we want it.'

Not surprised but the nerf was stupid. UAC should stay jammed until end of match when they jam, and the jam chance should be reduced down to a level where it's reasonably unlikely... or at at least be given a sustained fire effect where the chance to jam increases from the initial 1% or lower as the weapon is fired constantly. The tradeoff is unreliability, but right now it's just artificial pause in DPS which cannot be influenced by players by moderating fire rate or anything. And it just unjams anyway so it's annoying.

It's not my fault that you're too ignorant to understand italics, or infer common literary usage of italics to represent a character's thoughts. I was making a statement regarding my experiences and my perspective - which I am free to do, thank you - and if you actually think for a moment that my quote was offensive, then perhaps I should tell you how I really feel.

800-K.I.C.K.A.S.S.

Ask for Gohten Skillheimer. Don't insult his name, it's German. He gets a bit irritated.

But for real, I have great success with UAC-5s since the patch on the 20th. Occasionally I get out-DPS'd in a straight DPS-duel with a quad AC2 'Phract, but then I laugh when he overheats like a *****. I'm still working on adapting my aim for range and netcode, and I still get 600+ damage and up to five kills a match (although I'm cool with 0 kills and all assists). I've gotten my highest damage ever yesterday - 1100 with four kills and four assists.

The jam is a bit of a sticker until you realize that the UAC 5s are beasts on principal. Since they auto-unjam now, I don't have to worry about manually unjamming. Better yet, it helps me moderate my heat, keeps me from wasting ammo (I can reposition my shots inbetween unjams) and it often causes my linked alpha UACs to stagger when they unjam, producing a stream of unparallelled death at a rate of up to 20 damage/sec - or greater when the cannons stutter-fire and throw an extra round into a volley.

So, I'm quite sane, quite serious, and kicking some insanely serious posterior.

Why, is the UAC5 not shooting anymore? Ultra AC are never ment to fire constantly in ultra mode.

Touch? It would probably be a mite more accurate if I took the doll and set the bloody thing on fire whilst stabbing it repeatedly with a sharp metal rod. That is also on fire.

Well we're talking about the Hotfix TODAY...ya know, the 22nd :) You may want to test it out some and re-evalute your opinions. Almost everyone liked 'em 20th-Hotfix.

Hmm. I played about ten matches today and I did notice an unusual amount of extra jam between peanut butter and bread. It wasn't too horribly uncommon for me to jam - even both weapons - after the first shot. There may have been some stealth nerf that I wasn't quite aware of.

That said, I'm still honestly kicking a lot of *** with my twin-UACs. No lie. Only time I died today was trying to trade blows with a quad-AC2 'Phract and that was because we were in a cul-de-sac and I was already scraped up.

And you were further than 270m away? I mean, you have a ton of range with that thing.

Perhaps we should go to TT standard, and jam the gun permanently/for at least 10 seconds.

Wouldn't that be great?

Upon further research, I still maintain my point, but will jump on the bandwagon. 25% is really a bit much when it comes to jam frequency.

How does "permanently" go with "at least 10 seconds?"
