This poll is here to see if there is any potential danger to YLW sales from the AH variant.

Let me explain:

As i'm an ex -AH, current -YLW pilot, I see the YLW as a pure, obvious upgrade to my playstyle as I use the best XL and a single AC/20. In my case the wang offer numerous advantages to the design with no drawbacks.

And what a surprise it was when i've found that alot of pilots who buy Wang use it with a gauss! It is obvious, that those CN9-A's and -D's fit that playstyle way more! These guys use Wang for XP/Cb bonuses, not for AC/20!

Now, with this poll, we are going to check what threat, if any, the CN9-AH poses to CN9-YLW.

P.S. And Please, dont post that "f2p/p2w" stuff here. thank you.

Can't vote as section 2 dose not allow me to say, I like both. And I have both currentlay. I have a AL, A and Wang. All 3 diffrentley set up. the wang running the stock weapons but structure and other upgrades applied. Gets me loads of games with 3-4 kills in many. The ac20 is fun. arm is not as fragile as people beleave.

YLW with all upgrades (endo, dhs,ff) lets you mount an ac20 with 4 tons of ammo, 2med lasers and a standard 250 engine (87.x km/h, 10 dhs going at 2.0). Just strip leg armor to 40 each or drop 1 ton ammo.

Once the ac20 gets upgraded itll get even better.

P.S. I post this allthetime everywhere YLW gets mentioned  its so good i feel i have to share the love!

I didn't include multiple mech variant intentionnaly. I have YLW, AL, D and had an -A myself. In such case vote 3, because this poll is about Wang/AH decision. Variant 4 "CN9-A/D/AL" means you do not pilot Wang/AH.

As for YLW+AH.. i thought there would be no reason, but seems like there are two: "custom paint+AC/20 at once" and "triple AC/2 + AC/20 mechs to choose". I'm adding this now.

GT Hawk, you cannot have both currently, because there is no AH currently.
If you like both - here is a new poll option.

AC\20 is really much fun.) I've set it up a bit different, with a maximum XL (97kph) DHS (HE at 1.82) and 49 rounds for AC/20. no other weapons installed, but my '20 tends to outlive me. :D Never ran out of ammo so far(which happened sometimes with 42 rounds)
I'd try your outfit, but those upgrades ar far too expansive to make each time. if it wasnt YLW i'd just buy another 'mech to compare. <_<

Personally, I wold like to see the CN9-AH reinstated.

In comparison to the Yen Lo Wang, the -AH is indeed rather similar... but, the latter's complete dependence on ammunition-based weaponry (versus the former's complete dependence on direct-fire weaponry) and likely-to-have-been different individual aspects (convergence and tracking rates, torso-twist speed and degree, etc) would/should have resulted in each of the two 'Mechs being able to fill roles for which the other might less well-suited.

I do realize that the -AH would also be competing with the YWL over some roles, and that PGI would of course want to better promote sales of the Hero 'Mech, but I believe that the game would be generally better as a result of having the option to choose between them (or, better yet, to be able to have both). ;)

They're completely different mechs. One has 2 ballistic hard points in the right arm and two energy hard points in the centre torso. The other has 3 ballistic hard points in the right arm and 2 missile hard points in the left torso. I'd play these two mechs entirely differently.

Aside from that, you can never have too many Centurions. I've mastered all four and I'd buy a fifth in a heartbeat.

There isn't an option for those players that run their Wang with the zombie build. It doesn't have an arm mounted weapon.

I keep expecting that YLW will be a time limited super-duper you buy now or miss out exclusive thing, and that the AH will be restored once its removed from sale...

I run my YLW with a single AC/20, 8 tons of ammo, XL 280 engine, max armors with the DHS, Endos, and etc.

I average about 715 xp per game in it. It's my favorite set-up to enjoy a lot. That matters to me a lot.

YLW. I never run 100% ammo-dependant 'mechs out of principle. Plus, the Centurion has the most zombie potential out of all mechs. I'd never give up those two energy hardpoints in the CT! This rules out both the CN9-AH and the use of XL engines.
I too use a standard 250 + AC20/Gauss + 2 ML setup.

Okay, you've convinced me.
As a Centurion fan and veteran i might agree. I know the -AH layout, and they really are different. But running with AC\20 and missiles is pretty difficult, you know..
Anyway, i'd buy an -AH as well just to be able to custom-paint it. And its my former favorite mech after all - having not piloted it, i'd never have bought the -YLW.

By the way... is it possible that bringing -AH back would make some pilots buy the -YLW in the end, by hooking on the AC/20 design?

as for pure zombie - it goes in "other" category.

From Paul a while ago...

Paul Inouye said:

First off, the CN9-AH was our test vehicle for what we could do for Yen-Lo Wang. It was the closest variant we would use without exposing what the first Hero Mech was going to be. Now that Yen-Lo Wang is announced and present, we have removed the CN9-AH and will be replacing it with the CN9-D with the Artemis Guidance System in the next Mech release pack.

I don't think they are gonna bring it back (and if the 3pv poll was any indication, they don't really care about forum poll results...)
