I know they put a lot of hard work in to it and i know that most of the time they are rewarded by the sometimes unfounded, sometimes justified community outrage (theres more bad reactions on the forums than good ones...i assume that its because people have the urge to come on forums when they have complaints and just enjoy the game when they dont).

Anyway, back on track. Do you guys feel that our devs enjoy their own game? Is their heart in it?

Judging from the recent hunt the devs i have to say i was impressed by most of our devs.

-Russ put some thought in to how he would play (cautious and defensive/strategic) and had a build that reflected that.

-Paul had a weird Cat build that i would usually mock, but he sure looked like he was having fun.

-Garth was his usual weirdo self (i always wondered why theres an invert axis option for mouse controls, because imo no one in their right mind would use that and now i know thats true ). But we all know he loves his speed and his medium lasers and his builds/mech choices reflected that.

-Bryan...well here is where things took a turn. I dont mean to bash on anyone, and Bryan if you are reading this i hope you dont take offense. But to me your gameplay did not really reflect any enjoyment. First of all, i almost started shouting advice at the screen when you were fitting the hunchie 4sp. Ammo in the center torso? 5 medium pulse with almost no heat sinks? Free unused slots/tonage? I'm one of those people that enjoys fiddling with fittings and to me its half the fun (maybe even more :)), and your mechlab handling was painful to watch. But ok, lets say ur just not a mechlab kind of guy. You like to get in to the action and start blasting away at enemy mechs right away, right? Well no...it didnt really look like that either. You went in to the game and just started with a sporadic gameplay style one would expect from a completely new player taking his first steps in a mech. And since you are not new, that sort of translates in to not really caring. And then when you died you did not check how your team was doing, you did not check who on your team was still alive or how they were playing or comment on any of it, you just left the match in a very methodical and distanced way.
I know you are a busy guy and dont really have much free time to play but neither do some of your players that still enjoy your game. And im not saying anything stupid like you are a bad person for not enjoying MWO, because from what ive seen in videos and heard in podcasts you are a decent guy. But do you actually enjoy the game? Is your heart (and not just hard work and time) in it?

I know we cant really expect or demand that developers put their heart in to the games they are developing, but we all know that its a key ingredient in making games truly great, and i for one really do hope that our devs are one of those people and that MWO will be one of those games.

Maybe he quite the match as fast as he could so he could race to the forums and complain.

Maybe some Gauss/ premade/ streak cat/ LRM/ lag shield QQ that makes forums users sound cool because they are so good they know when a weapon si OP.

Im sure he had fun. He is obligated to. Part of the EULA in MWO we all agree on when we install...

Why not? Because its magical and it puts smiles on childrens faces? A job is a job...some people take pride and enjoy jobs that almost no one else would, and some people dont take pride and dont enjoy jobs that a lot of people would.

Apparently I am not in my right mind. I cannot play FPS or whatnot without it. It just feels wrong, too many years with flight sims I think. I don't know, I do know I cannot function without it haha. Up is down and down is up, otherwise it's all wrong. I can't be the only one. I remember when this wasn't a option in the CB ...it was a nightmare...
