Argh, the one book I don't have. Handbook: House Marik's got all the info on House Bey. From what I gather, House Bey has connections to House Orloff and Thomas Marik (or rather, the man calling himself Thomas Marik).

House Bey was selected to take over power in the Ohren and Zion Provinces once the Van Vaals dynasty came to an end (the Countess Van Vaal was unable to bear children after radiation exposure from a leaky BattleMech). Selah Bay was chosen because of her connections to the outgoing regime and loyalty to Janos Marik.
This was the first time in the FWL that one dynasty, knowing it was ending, chose its successor.

So... how long before this 'House Bey' starts to make vids about Mech combat that's got great explosions, but confusing, hard to follow combat, poorly written dialogue, and far too much focus on the actions of people who aren't Mech pilots?
