I've been looking at all the QQ/Nerf/OP threads and I had a moment of clarity, all of these issues are easily fixeable, just gotta get these simple fixes implemented!
Problem 1: All weapons are OP, ESPECIALLY any that have hit/hurt/killed you, that's just not right!
Solution: All weapons should be replaced with fairy wands, and all DPS should be changed to TPS (tickles per second.) Also they will generate NO HEAT and you get "you tried your best" bonuses, all TPS will be set to 1 regardless of the weapon selected, if you still manage to die some way you will now respawn.
Problem 2: People with better computers get better resolution and framerate, therefore it's OP.
Solution: All players will have their settings auto-corrected to play exactly the same as your sisters Hello Kitty netbook that you borrow while she's at ballet practise to play the game.
Problem 3: People with higher internet speed have an advantage in aiming and hitting targets, OP.
Solution: PGI should introduce a lag generator to make sure everyone has a 2000ms ping rate, this will also as a side effect enable dial up users and those that communicate with the internet via flares/smoke signals to play as well which will triple the customer base! (I want a commission)
Problem 4: People who have played the game and have more "skill" are OP.
Solution: A bug should be introduced that causes players to lose HUD, randomly fires weapon groups, and shuts down the mech if they reach a 1/1 k/d ratio. (sorry, with the new wands only rule it will be T/L ratio (tickle/laugh.)
If these changes can be introduced then I think we can all have a fun combat simulator.... err.... pillow fight, umm..... well...... it will be "happy time" and everyone will get ice cream after every match and no losers so no more tears!
But on a serious note in order for the game to be fun there have to be "better" weapons and loadouts, and that's what we should all be striving for. Sure there will be points where a weapon is a little overpowered like the LRMS and UAC5 but even while that is happening remember that there's nothing stopping you from using it as well while it's in that condition, so in that respect it's still balanced. I have to say PGI has done a pretty awesome job with hotfixes to rectify the problems, when the LRM's went nuts there was a fix within 24 hours, when the UAC5 got overpowered they jumped on it within 24 hours as well, they are doing their job, and those that used them in that way were the ones that showed PGI the error, and that's what beta testers are for. In the end it's just a game, so don't take it so personally ppl, even after it goes out of beta there will be things players find to exploit and PGI will fix those things too. So to all of you , devs and players, I say keep up the great work. It's the holidays so let's all cut eachother a little slack and make this game as great as it can be!
