Bumping into other 'mechs is very easy, especially if reversing. At the moment it's quite buggy; you can easily get "stuck" in a friendly 'mech and have a hell of a time disentangling from it.

The suggestion: implement a very simple "proximity warning" on the edges of the screen if you are about to collide with another 'mech. It might be part of a module or piece of equipment; it might only work for friendly 'mechs. The side of the screen it appeared on would correspond to the side the collision was going to happen on (front, back, either side - possibly based on current torso orientation).

It might take the form of an icon which would move radially around the screen as you moved your viewpoint in relation to the collision.

Similarly this could be implemented for the missile alert, showing a direction for incoming missile fire; this would almost certainly want to be a module upgrade.

Both of these alerts might have a distance number on them or a countdown (more apt for missiles).
