ive been pestering the devs to spill any details on community warfare since open beta but they are not talking. Many of the new players that havent been around the closed beta phase have no idea there is a metagame planned for MWO. I only hope they dont abandon the idea and just leave it as it is now

If they did, they would have to talk about incomplete content and theirs no guaranty that it will look anything like it does now.

And knowing THIS forum community, that would backfire on them severely. That, and its better for legal reasons as well.

Its like when new games are announced, the vast majority of the time they're fairly well into development before they're even announced to the public.

Rather you agree or disagree, its far more logical to keep in-depth info on community warfare out of the public until they get the basic infrastructure done on it and actually have a final road plan for it. As of now, its no where near complete and barely anything on it is probably set in stone. So talking about it would be pointless regardless.

Ok, this is strange. Hope they didn't silently cut CW.

Its the main game mode and the core of the game. Why in the world would they cut that out?

That would be like cutting out the multiplayer of a CoD title.

I can guarantee you that we will play the same familiar maps, just like they do in world of tanks.

Not that I don't appreciate the work they do on maps (because I think they look really good and do some pretty cool things to mess with shot angles and chokes), but that just feels..lazy. I mean I understand that whatever we do, it will have to be on maps they make, and those maps take a long time to create AND they probably want to get the most possible mileage out of all that time/work making them, but.. I am conflicted.

I wish there was some way for them to pound out several extra maps much more quickly. Maybe they wouldn't be used except for a couple mission areas perhaps and they could be a bit more lax on certain details in order to create them faster, but it'd be something to break out of monotony that I'm scared might arrise. I'm also curious if this will mean all the worlds will feel the same, AKA random terrain via random map choice.

I guess I just don't want to have CW feel like a slapped on sticker over 3-4game modes in 8-12maps. At the same time, I have no idea how to make that not happen.

Heck, maybe I'm worrying over nothing. Maybe they'll get stuff cleaned and balanced so that I'll be having so much fun I wouldn't notice. And a smoother integrated social system might make it more likely that I'll take the time to rangle some friends into the fun. And maybe they'll hire enough more devs to start pewpewing out quality maps good'n'fast.
I can certainly hope.
