I primarily need to run those two programs (Autodesk Inventor and MW:O). Here is what I have:

GPU: PowerColor AMD Radeon HD 5450 512MB

CPU: AMD HDX925WFGMBOX Phenom II

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-M68MT-D3 AM3 NVIDIA GeForce 7025/nForce 630a chipset Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333 MHz (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory (TW3X4G1333C9)

Hard-drive: 500GB 16MB Cache 7200RPM SATA3.0Gb/s

Power supply: COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS500-PCARD3-US 500W ATX12V v2.3

DVD Drive: Asus DVD-E818A7T/BLK/B/GEN Black 18X SATA DVD-ROM Bulk

Case:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64Bit

Some pro tips for your first time building a PC:

INSPECT ALL THE PIECES AND MAKE SURE THEY FIT
DON'T BUY THE WRONG MOBO (Motherboard) LIKE I DID
Figure out the specs required for what you want to do, and get pieces that fit those specs
Talk to real people too, not just me and/or Tom's Hardware
Make sure that all pieces have power (CPU, Mobo, CD Drive, GPU)
Make ABSOLUTELY SURE to get a wifi card/USB
Try to find some deals
Don't give up and buy an Alien-ware. They are ripping you off by over $1500
Ask me for help if you'd like, I now know things :wub:

If any of these need to be re-corrected please tell me. All of these are in a new condition from E-Bay (derp) and have been taken off of this article: How to build a kicka*s Crysis 2 PC for under $600 and Vulpesveritas' Builds of the week. Case is NZXT Phantom 0001-W (I think that is how it goes). Pics coming soon!

As it looks, the GPU is lower than I would normally recommend, and I generally recommend away from Coolermaster PSUs since they generally lack high-end GPU components. If you're looking at a $600 budget, then I would recommend looking at my builds of the week, or if you are looking at buying this weekend, I have a thread up for a Black friday recommendation list.

Cool. So basicly, the GPU and Power system should be changed out? Also, the case for the PC is NZXT Guardian White SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Case. Any specifics I could find for the GPU and power sup. (name, brand, etc)? Also, I can go a little over the $600 budget, cause I have managed to find some epic deals for cheap prices on the other items.

Well, you really shouldn't be spending so much on a case when you have this limited of a budget, and put more towards your GPU and such.
If you buy this weekend, this is your best setup to go with at $600;
Case: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16811148060
PSU: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817139026
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813157280
CPU: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819103727
GPU: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814150561
RAM: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820231314
HDD: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822152244
ODD: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16827106289
OS: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16832116986
Heatsink: stock
TIM: stock
And if you have an extra budget, I recommend getting this PSU as the next step upgrade (which is substantial): http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817151119

well, if you have a higher budget, I would recommend then at minimum sticking to the remainder of my suggestion if possible and just leaving your case as is. If you must go lower on something, drop the GPU down to a Radeon HD 7770, as this is what you're looking at frame rates with a 6450;

and then with a 7770;

And the 6870 comes out to ~30fps at 1080p.

Looks good. I have everything wired, but my BIOS won't load. I think the graphics card isn't working for some reason. I'll update you soon. (I got the 7770 BTW)

If the BIOS isn't booting then it could quite possibly be the motherboard or CPU, unless it's only not booting with that GPU installed.

Make sure you didn't forget something obvious, like the 12v CPU connector on the mobo (I did that once, and the machine won't POST). Also, before you do anything drastic, try a CMOS reset. I've had a "bricked" motherboard or two spring to life after doing so (not often, but it's happened). Note that bad RAM can also cause a failure to boot; try booting with only one stick of RAM, then try booting with the other.

I did reset CMOS, I'll try the RAM. 12v CPU connector? I have no CPU plug on the mobo, but everything from the PSU that can connect is connected. Also, I think the piece of crap motherboard has no VGA. If needed, I could post a pic of my setup.

Whoa, okay, stop. You do. It's the square white one with four holes near the upper-right hand corner of this pic.

That one absolutely needs to be plugged in for the system to POST. Get a plug in there, it doesn't matter if you have to stick half of an 8-pin power connector on there (it will work, and there's only one orientation it will go in on).

Also, I think the piece of crap motherboard has no VGA.

Also incorrect. There's a reason the board has a blue VGA output socket on the outside. Believe me, get that one white 4-pin CPU power receptor plugged in and your troubles should be mostly over.

Do you have a copy of the instruction booklet that came with this motherboard? It's kind of important. Anyways, you can get another copy of it here: http://www.gigabyte....pid=3497#manual

Thanks for the CPU info. But it has serial. Not VGA. EDIT: Mine has a Serial, and the CPU plug won't fit in. I reallly don't like my motherboard. I might just get a new one -.-

EDIT (Again): I managed to get the wrong mobo. I'll update soon.

Something to consider is how much CAD work you are going to do and make sure that your GPU can support it. It may be that if the CAD work is far more important than gaming that you need to get a proffesional graphics card and ignore gaming altogether.

Actually, I have asked some of my friends who do CAD work and they like the description of my build. I am going to update soon about the Mobo, I may have found a fix.
