My little sister is doing a science fair project on whether gender affects color preference, but she is having trouble finding enough people to answer her question, so which would you choose? She has the choices of red, green, blue, purple or yellow. Could people please respond with their choice as well as gender? Thank you.

Black, used to be blue.
So if black is not an option then blue.
Male naturally.

Bright orange, but since that doesn't seem to be available, then yellow.
Male.

Green and male

I don't believe that gender makes color preferences, but upbringing definetly does.

I think the only time color preference might be affected by gender is in children because they think that a specific color is more expected of them, but my little sister wanted to test it for the science fair. She's getting closer to having enough people, but she's still a little short, so if anyone else wants to answer, I'd like to here your opinion.

That's most probably the case, even though you still won't see many men wearing pink outside (not purple).

My favorite color is olive, so green it is. Male ofc. :(

Purple (actually violet, go figure!), female.

(Yes I exist.)

EDIT: Used to like green as a kid, still like it a fair bit. Hope I'm not skewing the results too much toward stereotypical stuffs...

Egg plant, so purple. Female.

Somehow the word combined (which is a frigging squash, for crying out loud!) is on the no-no list.

<-- Blue... male... and now it feels so stereotypical. Green is a close second.

Of course the censor caught that. We all know what you mean when you try to say egg-plant, if you know what I mean. ;)

*edit* Didn't read Violette's post before mentioning stereotypes.
I wonder how much is genetic and how much is social conditioning? and "oh look at me, I just summed up centuries of psychological study in one inane sentence, yay, go me."
