Plenty of mercenary companies are recruiting. Clan in this game refers to a specific factions within the canon universe and is not the same as guild/clan in other games.

oops maybe my wording was wrong. i meant clan=guild. i know the game is not offically released, but i am looking for a guild that plans to practice and compete at some point. i always say i will be ok with casual gaming, but reality is once i play i get hardcore and usually want to play with other fairly hardcore players that want to be at the top of ladders/leagues.

Black Widow Company is recruiting at http://the-bwc.com. We have regular "red vs. blue" matches against our own teams for practice and have a nice pool of skilled pilots to group with outside of scheduled company operations. I've only been in the corp for a few days but everyone has been well skilled and all play to win, but they are not egotistical and everyone I've dealt with has been happy to help and answer questions.

Keep in mind that "clan" in another game and "Clan" in BattleTech have very different meanings. I think you are looking for a merc corp or unit to join.
