I posted about this issue the day after the AC5 Hotfix launched and the post was deleted.
FYI to the forum admins, deleting the CTD posts does not nullify the fact that the AC5 Hotfix is causing CTD issues. There is a CTD issue with the AC5 Hotfix.

I am in this situation as well.. Never had a problem with the once in a blue moon CTD, but having them everyday multiple times is maddening! And, like above, it isn't even like I can anticipate it will happen. There are usually no lag issues or frame drops and I am about to Alpha strike the LRM boat with it's side to me when I get a fistful of Desktop.

Even uninstalled and updated nvidia driver and re-installed.
That seemed to help the problem with launching game into a solid black screen. Had several of those after the patch as well but re-install and update drivers seemed to help with that one.
But all those CTD's are making the game unplayable.
I am trying to supply a crash dump but i cant find where to report bugs any more.
