EDIT:

I guess I'm just going to show some of my battletech related models here.

Anyone can request what models they would like to see made. I can't make everyones but I will make as many as I can.

If you can post some reference images with your request that would help quite a lot.

Quickly thrown together in Lightwave is this Raptor II. Took a bit over 2 hours to model.

I'm planning on making an Assassin next but if anyone would like to see another mech just ask.

Looks great, you used the Raptor II from Mechassault 2 right?

Would love to see if you could do the original Rifleman or Urbanmech.

I've been planning on doing the Rifleman for a while so I think I'll start with that one.

I won't curse myself by saying when it will be done but I can start work on it tonight.

Call me weird, but I've always been impressed by the capabilities of the Falconer FLC-8R. A heavy mech that has a top speed of over 86 kph, a PPC and Gauss rifle for main armament, backed up by four medium lasers for in-close punch. Add a trio of jump jets and you have a great package, IMHO!

I'd love to see it modeled sometime and would definitely love to use it in the game!! :P Hmmm, maybe I'll send this to the developers!

If anyone has a mini of the the mech they want modeled please try to take a photo of the front and side of it. If the mech is asymmetrical try to take a photo of both sides.

Like so,

This can reduce the time it takes to make them by quite a bit.

Orthographic drawings and such work just as well.

Looks great, especially due to the fact how fast you did it. I can't remember how many hours it took to draw my Mk2, but it was MUCH more than only two hours.

Personally I think the Mad Cat Mk2 is a far more complex model and you seemed to have given it a nice bit of detail in the geometry itself. Not a lot of people know what the Raptor should really look like so I was able to take a few shortcuts with this model.

I'm also practicing on making game models so I'm restricting myself to about 6k quads per model. This raptor has about 6.5k. It seems your Mad Cat had far more than that due to its detail. Slap some photo-real textures on it and it should look awesome.

Ok, good looking model but those veins you see on the surface (i.e. the nose) are wires. That is the only error you made as those wires would be under a layer of insulation which would lie under the armor itself. If the design you made where to go on the battlefield, it would suffer loss of control to certain parts ( ECM, BAP, Arm , and leg functions). Even a simple infantry would be able to take down that 'mech to loss of control. Just my two c-bills.

Yeah I definitely turned that part of the bump map up way too high. I'll tweak that until it looks right.

This should look better:

Here is the model minus the image textures and bump.

I'll put all these mechs together in an animation or at least a few still shots when I think I have enough mechs.

Oh, and before anyone says anything about me skipping people I just want to say that I don't go in any form of order. I tend to make the easiest ones first and then move on to the harder ones if I can.
