Then I guess you just threw your money way before you even got to enjoy playing the finalized game which has not shipped yet.
What I am saying is be mind full of who is reading this. Give a little respect to who is building the game by not publicly flogging them.
Word your concerns with possible fixes, offer suggestions of factual examples.
Set a positive, constructive, factual post, because future players will see that this community is a mature group of pilots and will be more willing to pay money to keep the game alive because the community is fun, cool and helpful.
This isn't about hurt feelings this is about future capital, a great game and a return on your investment. Its just common sense.
WHY DON'T FORD INVESTORS BASH THEIR CARS ON THEIR COMMERCIALS? Because they would never convince people that their cars are worth buying. That's what investors meeting are about and why they are behind closed doors.
it sounds like a few of you are doing it the right way, you know I am not talking to you.
Who said anything about public flogging? This is beta, and yes there will be issues. I payed hard earned money to support the game and the developers willingly. Isn't the point of beta to find and fix issues? The facts are that netcode is bad, bugs are game breaking, and some of the balancing issues leave a big question mark. Perhaps if these things need to be discussed behind closed doors, then maybe the beta shouldn't be "open" to everyone and there should be a "beta" forum for testers to discuss these things just like they had back in closed beta. Using your example of automobile manufacturers, does ford give broken cars to the open public and have them "test em out" and hope for the best? I'd assume that would be too public to risk exposure to faulty products.
As far as suggestions go, sure. Fix netcode, listen to the community of testers, and stop asking us for more money when game breaking issues aren't being addressed. Meanwhile have your talented artists keep developing assets via their pipeline and then introduce them for a cost when the time is right. It would save everyone frustration in that the perception wouldn't be that of a "cash grab" all the while your artists are still working to create great content thats ready to go as soon as the sandbox is stable.
I'd assume most players would rather have a game that is reliable and works before all the goodies get attention first. A stable game that is balanced and plays well will attract the players and get them hooked. Money follows success, not the other way around. For someone who seems to be so integrated into the financial world I would think you would understand that.
Oh and heres a suggestion I just noticed. I don't think "speed tweak" is giving the full 10% speed increase.
Running a Cataphract - 3D with an XL 280 engine.
Speed before tweak: 64.8 kph
Speed after tweak: 69.7 kph.
Expected speed increase after tweak: 71 kph and change.
So 64.8 x .10 = 6.48
Original speed of 64.8 + speed tweak bonus of 6.48 = 71.28. I assume there is some rounding going on in the speed calculations. Am I missing something here?
