I have not seen a single confirmed case of someone afk-farming (not that it would be easy to confirm. However I have seen a vast number of confirmed cases of game crashes of various types where there is no disconnect message.

i regret that i did not add the option to reconnect in the original poll, thanks to all of you who thought of that... i think it would be optimum; our mechs are locked out anyway, getting back into the match would help make most of the problems of the innocent crash victim go away and help bring the team back into balance. i'll add that to the poll right now (though it will look skewed unless folks revote)..

well done, those of you who brought that option up.

A CTD is usually easy to spot while the game. Most people who crash at launch don't enter the game with their 'Mech in the first place.

Not entirely true. Since last patch I've begun crashing at spawn regularly and team mates on VOIP are saying my mech is making it into game just fine, even though I'm left staring at my desktop.

^^^^This! Sometimes I CTD on entering a match 4-5 times an evening, which is annoying enough. My mates tell me every time my mech is still in game and I show as "connected". If you stumble across me standing at base doing nothing, I've disconnected!

Yup. I've CTD'ed at the very start of the match and ended up with my mech in the corner of a map running into a wall. I've also CTDed in the heat of battle.

Between CTD on game load and having the gold screen with no HUD, I figure that I'm useless to my team once every 10-20 games.

Being able to disconnect and reconnect would be a big help, as would a console command to force the client to reload graphics.

I have CTD a lot and my mech is stuck in game with my team down one man. It sucks. I want to be able to get back in the fight and help them.

Let us rejoin a match that we crash from!

i think perhaps folks who think ctd usually gives a discon may be older closed users, seems i remember tomething from back in like september that fit that... but freezeframe, black screen type things have always given damage to the mech if someone shoots it (ie. it needs repairs to be 100%)... so it has to have been in there there.
