Seems to be an increasing number of people that are just mining or for some odd reason choosing to go make food at in opportune times during a game. This has creates quite an imbalance at times (not always) but I would say for the vast majority this pretty much decides the outcome before the match really gets under way.
What would people think if they set a time limit on a player to give a mech any commands, ( I say this so people just don't set there mech to walk towards a cliff wall and just walk away) say around 5 minutes. After which it works on a first out, first in basis in which a dead pilot can take control of the mech and at least be of some use to the team/fight. You could have the weapon groupings reset after the match for the AFK mech so as not to be a nuisance, and the new pilot would get all, if not at least a large portion of the extra experience and cash.
Not sure if this even feasible, but thought it may solve some in game issues.

The most recent patch has made the game unstable for a few people, this causes them to crash on load, or even in mid match(both have happened to me).

afk's happen for many number of reason's. some are honourable some are not. i've seen afk's and thought bad but then i see a ping of 1000 and though my god i lag badly enough at 250-300 let alone 1000. it's no wonder. i've had server fails and have seen mechs stray well out of bounds because they've suddenly had their server down, and their running is locked out. a few still have black screen so they bail cause they can't fight anyways. so it's really hard to determine who's shut down being a piker and bad sport and who's had genuine trouble with bugs and had to bail.
tough one this real tough one.

In most of the matches I've been in that this has happened it's generally had little to no affect on the outcome. It happens to both sides when it happens for the most part, and even being down a mech sometimes isn't a disadvantage if you can keep your team from being the one that loses focus.

AFK's and suicide farmers are in stupid numbers right now... I have had at least 50% of my games with one or both. one match it was 5 on 8 beause of this.
As a note, you can report farmers easily by sening an email to support, I've already done this a bunch of times. They are working on a better process but until they do I'll be reporting people a lot. I dont if people disconnect, it happens, but when they stand here and fire until they over heat and explode before anyone moves ... its obvious what is going on.
Also watch the chat, one user had obviously been doing it all night and the other players saw it coming.

Its bad when the AFK'r is an atlas. had a couple matches go bad tonight because one of our 2 assaults was afk. Maybe have them take negative c-bills at the end of a match. It ****** me off that that last match ended up costing me 5k cbills, and that loser ended up making 60k. makes me wonder why bother with anything that isn't a trial?
