I was thinking about it and wondering that say if my warhammer 7M came with an SRM 6 and a MG that I don't really use much. I can remove them which will lower my BV and thus put my whole team at an advantage via a BV based match making system.
I wonder if changing loadouts will have an effect on the calculation of the matchmaking or if my WHM-7M will have the same BV via the matchmaker reguardless of how I load it out.
there are pros and cons for either. if the loadout makes a differance I could streamline my whole team by trimming the fat from my mech or specialising it to a role. This would also match teams closer than if a WHM-7M had a set BV reguardless of how the knuclehead driving it has it speced out.
I know that match making has not been discussed yet in the dev blogs and yes I know that the WHM-7M may not ever make it into the game but hey I can dream can't I?

We don't even know if Battle Value even factors into this game.

it will be there in some fashon weather we see it or not. the game has to use something to ballance the match maker. Since our mechs are customisable it seems logical that if the capability of a mech increases then it may be calculated differantly. It would also be interesting if you think about it from a BV stand point that if a standard team deathmatch was 15000 points capped that would work for calculating clan vs IS mechs in a match. I just use BV because its easier to relate to

Pretty much this. BTW I, for one, hope BV is used to limit teams' mech choice and/or team size before the game but I don't remember any official statement on that issue.
