Shift+mouse = mouse controls arms not torso.

Useful for firing at a distance at on-the move targets without having to deal with the torso swiveling.

Seems logical enough..

..apparently though alot of people already have issues with being able to walk forward and turn their torso, not sure how they would handle this.. ;)

I think it would be good though

is this a suggestion?
because if yes, try Left CTRL and mouse movement.
It's called free look in key bindings and will do exactly this.

What part of 'arm control' is hard to understand?

I didn't think it moved arms either, but cool! Wish I still had sticks - could rig up some pretty awesome control that way. I couldn't hotkey multiple buttons, but I didn't tinker with that much.

That only moves the head. Like you said its 'freelook'. This thread is about ARM CONTROL.

The arms do NOT move when you move your head. The 'o' reticle stays with the torso reticle.

You should go try that again then, cause the arm reticule does move...

It will only do that in mechs without free moving arms.

I gotta love these ignorant trolls. Independent arm movement as in it's not affected by MOVING THE TORSO.
In free look if you move the torso it MOVES THE ARMS TOO.
You're still restricted to having the torso STATIONARY so the free look can work effectively.

Did the caps help?

Yes this is a valid suggestion and I've already posted something like this but in the manner of modifying free look so that it works while moving the torso around.

It's not even that hard to code in.
Since even the free look has arm movement boundaries, when the independent arm movement is on, if the torso moves in 1 direction at some speed, the arms crosshair should move in the opposite direction within those boundaries at the same speed.
Essentially your torso crosshair will move across the screen while the arms crosshair will stay in the midle.

Again, in free look moving your torso MOVES THE WHOLE SCREEN, not just the torso crosshair.

10/10 for making me post again...

what the OP wanted was a key to press so the mouse movement controlls the ARMS.
Free look in fact DOES CONTROL THE ARMS while the torso stays stationary, never did the OP say anything about controll the torso with one input device and at the same time controlling the arms with another one.

I agree, it also moves the whole screen, but again, OP never mentioned anything about this.

OP never mentioned anything specifically thus you can't be accusing him of asking for something that you understood in your own way without first asking him to explain further.

On a side note, I also understood, in my own way, that you were just trolling or being too dense to comprehend the what I was, again, looking at from a different direction. See? It's really hard to communicate when you just accuse without letting people explain themselves.

That's exactly what I'm saying. He interpreted that as a troll attempt and replied with an accusation and after that it's more or less like a chain reaction in a nuclear explosion.
