1. Get DHS
2. Get rid of that useless LB-X10 AC
3. Get a good ole AC/10
4. 3 tons of ammo for UAC/5 and 2 tons for AC/10
5. Get enough DHS to reach 1.1 heat efficiency
6. Keep your 4 Mlasers, you'll need them if you run out of ammo (and you will)
7. You should have 0.5 ton left, get armor.
8. Huge profit and *** kicking ahead
WIth this build, you can deal over 800 damage per match (got over 1000 with a screen to prove it) and get several kills.
The LB-X10 is not a viable weapon currently and will only reduce the mech's potential (while increasing repair cost if you lose it). Until it gets fixed, don't use it.
Only use your lasers when you're sure to hit and you're inside max range to maximize damage. This way, you shouldn't overheat much.
You worst enemies are light mechs, but even then, you can hurt them pretty bad with your 4 Mlasers and if you're a decent shot with that AC/10, don't waste too many UAC/5 rounds on them. Medium and heavy mechs should die pretty quick against your crazy dps.
Try it, enjoy it.

I believe I can answer this. The LB10-X is the most expensive weapon in the game. It has no range (striking a component with all shots requires near point blank range). It requires five x2 critical hits to destroy the average item. What I'm not sure on is if the 10X is gauranteed 2x crits on a successful crit roll, like the MG. If that's true, it would put it on par with the AC10 for crit seeking.
AC10 costs 1 more ton. It has 450m range. It's less expensive. It takes just one 1x crit to destroy the average item.

look at the LBX10 like a shotgun..
Shot it at a tank.. it doesn't do jack.
Open the tanks hatch and fire the gun in side? and you've pretty much got a dead tank.. everyone in the tank is dead, the controls are shot and the tank will need some heavy repairs before it can be used again, if ever...
thats kind of like the LBX10, hit someone with low to no armor and you can rip up thier insides. I love it

there are some misconceptions in this thread and I should perhaps clarify something to help explain my point (and Simon Osis sir, you find some manners, there was no need to call me a moron).
Currently, the LB-X doesn't get crit bonus, which means it doesn't get more chance to crit a specific part of equipment. You'll destroy as many pieces of equipments with the standart AC/10. Also, since the damage is spread, it performs really really bad at destroying armor (especially since it's doubled) which kinda fits the "shotgun" part though. Finally, you need to be really, really close to a mech for your pellets to deal damage on roughly the same spot. Interestingly, I've seen pellets hit some parts of a mech and noticed no armor flashing, indicating it didn't hit. But, that's another matter.
I made a thread in general discussion to help me understand why the LB-X existed in TT and why it was so good (especially compared to MWO's version). Right now, let's just call the gun the LB-X version 0.1, which does 10% of what it could do in TT.
I'd recommend you try my build, as I've had better results with it than with the standard build. I could post some screenshots if you like...

I am currently experimenting with a version of this build that Drops the LB-10X in favor of another UAC 5. Even with the new jamming/unjam mechanic. I am experimenting to see how it goes, but I don't play a great deal, and when I do I have to PUG(irregular hours make finding a Premade kind of a pain). So it is going to be some time before the final math is in...I do know I used a similar build with a CPT-K2 before the DHS was introduced and it was fun and worked pretty well with my play style....the ability to better aim 1 Uac5 and 2 Med lasers( arm mounted) I figure can only improve things.

Interesting.
Personally I’d swap out the LB-X10 for a UAC5 with 5 tons of ammo upgrade the internal structure to free up weight add HS as needed/desired tweak the armor and see about adding a lager engine but that just me

Your mostly correct with this, but you are missing the one major advantage of the LB10-X, which is that you don't have to score a direct hit to do some damage. This makes it a better weapon for fighting light mechs than the standard AC-10. It's also nearly as effective as the standard 10 when paired with streak SRMs as these also spread damage around a bit (and will probably spread there damage a bit more in future patches).
In most situations the AC-10 is better, but the LB10-X does have it's place.

I had thought of a build like this before, but I usually chew through my ammo so fast and it's harder to aim the UAC... I decided to keep 1 big gun.

I used to believe this... until I chased a different commando 2 games in a row with its internals red and I couldn't finish him off even after 5 LBX hits...
