I was just looking through the Known Bugs page and saw one topic been " LRM's making cockpit shake to much"
Then It dawned on me arnt a heavy barrage of LRM's and larger Autocannons etc able to knock certain classes of mechs over.
Any idea if they will bring this feature in?

well, first they have to fix the knockdown code, then speed up the animation so you're not 100% screwed by it, then maybe consider being knocked down from just being hit really hard, soooo a while.

They don't want to add weapon knockdowns because it would be too easy to stunlock mechs.

Weapon knockdowns were originally planned to be in, but they've long since decided not to do it.
I remember previous mechwarrior games had them...at least 4 did.

If it makes sense to the hardcore players and was something they promised, but isn't something the casuals want, you can bet that it's not going to make it in.

I think it's a cool idea but here is a dev response:

Paul, when collisions go back in any chance of ac 20 causing knockdowns?

To do that would take control away from a player while getting up. I think knockdowns will stay limited to the Charge ability.

Well thats a bummer as getting hit wasnt an auto knockdown etiher in previous games, it was chanced based as far as i could tell then the chance either increased or decreased based on the class of mech and getting hit in certain positions etc.
Ie A full speed running mech was at a greater chance for the fact is the gyro is already heavily loaded (one foot in the air etc) and didnt take as much to push it over the edge especially for a side hit compared to a mech standing toe to toe slugging it out
