Gameplay question

Really VERY important question.
Let me explain it how horribly can team game go, on the example of World of Tanks. There is no other way of playing WoT, other than random team game. You get assigned to random stupid players. And your whole game experience is ruined by the fact that your random team is bunch of retarded monkeys, will lost all the time, and all you hear is "you was on the team, its your loss too"...
I would not play MWO if it would have the same pattern, that I'm randomly assigned to some retards which then lose the game for me.
Will there be an option in MWO how to play just for yourself, without being completely dependand on your team performance?
Thx

Aelos03, have you played WoT? If so, you would know that it does not work that way, if lance is an remake of platoon from WoT, then its useless. 3 players in a lance cant compensate for 12 incompetent monkeys.
Besides, I'm 25, how much of my friends you think plays mechwarrior? They very few that knew what it is dont.

This is definitely a game where you'd want friends to play with. Unless they have the player rating system talked about a few months ago. (Where you can rate players on their team-play/attitude/reliability). That would help match players with people who arn't trolls, and let the trolls play among themselves.
But to answer your question, this is not a 1v1 game. There is teamplay here, so come prepared or hope for FFA (solaris I'm looking at you!) gamemodes..

I wish this game the commercial success of WoT, but I hope it will be completely different in every aspect apart from that one. WoT is a terrible game...
So thx

Thx that is very nice of you. Well I'm from europe so it might be a little harder for me to find a lance, but guess I will have to try... And yes I hope it will be game of skill, I'm buying new joystick just because of it.

Games should be 12v12.
Options (appear) to be: solo que, lance (4man), or company (12man). Maybe others? like demi-lance (2mans)
*Guilds will be in game (merc corps), allowing you to find friends and play with them regularly.
I wouldn't freak out and panic just yet, these devs are remarkably talkative, and communicate with us players a lot
I'd go as far to say, the most communicative devs in any forum I've seen to date! They also reassure us regularly and give us a lot of feedback on topics we're worried about.

There are many people here who already have children playing with their long-time friends. Even people with grandchildren. You are considered young for these forums.
And I don't kno how exactly is it going to be handled, but I think most monkeys with brain tumors and whatver are going to play Hawken, anyway.

LoL...
In any multi-player team-based game you are depending from your team. The MWO is no difference in that matter...
Even if you play in a Lance, you are depending 8 other player, who can be "retarded", as you say.
Side note: who is "retarded" or not is depending from a point of view. But calling your mates "******" is insult, and i don't really believe that a good way to make friends. I seen veteran players doing dumb things in WoT, heck, even i'm do several times dumb things, and die early. And i believe even you make sometimes poor tactical choice, so in those battles even you can be called "******". So i think the first thing you need to be change is your attitude about your mates...

Yes, you said it in the first sentence, team-based. Dont like that concept. And dont get me wrong, I like team play, but in a different manner. I like if I have the option to play for a team of just for myself. If the only option to play a game are random teams of random players, it's very frustrating for me.
Also, don't count on that if MW has older community, so that it all will be better. It wont. If there will be random teams, it will be just like WoT...
