Lrm Buff Not Needed

There have been 2 posts on this in the last couple of days (one by me) but after Paul's edit I wanted to reiterate:

The 0.1 dmg/missile buff to LRM's is not needed. Really. Not at all. LRM's are fine



I am saying this as some oen loves LRM's and loves to paint mechs with TAG for other LRM lovers.

I am NOT an anti-LRM advocate. I do NOT think they are OP right now. I AM concerned about the patch tomorrow.

I suppose it is possible that the 0.1 dmg per missile buff wont make them OP, but if something is not broke, DONT FIX IT.

Bump for truth.

Post patch LRM went off the radar and people (including myself) were stripping out ams as projectile weapons took off, now they are back in force and balance has returned. A little organisation and teamplay with LRM will soon melt your armour off.

I 100% agree, the are fine atm, not OP and great support weapons as intended. My problem is, that they still have not inserted the counter to LRM+Artemis, when that happens they need to be looked at then.

Again leave them alone, "they are working as intended".

I have waited awhile to comment on the current LRM build until i have used them for a long period of time, and seen them used against me a number of times.

And I agree, LRMs do not need a buff. I think you can leave LRMs alone for now. Of course... they will probably still add the damage boost regardless of public opinion now...

Pretty sure they adjusted the spread on LRMs [as well as Streak] recently, they are much better again, though definitely not OP. Still undecided if they need a boost or not, but they're close one way or another.

It doesn't seem to bother me if I get an LRM voli headed my way as I just hide or leave site of what ever is spotting me, but when I do get hit it doesn't seem to do much. Not really the kind of fear I want from LRMs...

On the firing side I don't really notice my LRM + Art boat doing much damage any more, for the cost of refilling the missle ammo it simply doesn't do enough.

If the damage isn't going to be increased it should be cheaper to refill the ammo at least.

You just did not meet GOOD dedicated LRM boats.
3xLRM15+Artemis+TAG = 3...6 kills in a match, if the team is not just slumbering around.

Pretty sure Artemis doesn't get NARC/TAG benefits. Can't find it in Sarna, but all the old TT guys I know tell me as much.

Artemis here and Artemis in TT are quite different things, actually. TT = improve to-hit when target is in LoS. Here - improve spread, change trajectory.

It wont make them OP. what is needed is a streak fix.

Just wanted to chime in here and say I think LRM's are right where they need to be. If you get caught out in the open with your pants down they will smack you up pretty good. What I'm trying to say is I fear LRM's but evertime I die to them (rarely) I feel like it was my fault.

That means they are balanced well. (For me.)
