REMLAB uses a very simple UI for tracking the available space. The UI shows the total number of available spaces and the maximum number of spaces available in each mech body location. Switching to an easy to use, read, and understand UI would make the MechLab more approachable to new users and less cumbersome to advanced users.

A simple UI like below would a lot easier. Example is an empty mech with no hands and Endo-steel.

Head 2
CT 2
LT 12
RT 12
LA 9
RA 9
LL 2
RL 2
Empty 36

Seems like a table top user to me, since it's all in word format, without visuals to help video gamers like myself. =P
Doesn't seem easy to me, but then again, I'm more of a visual type person, versus wall of text.

Not a TT player. Just prefer concise UI to the fly around the mech with a giant 3D model taking up most of the screen UI in MechLab today. I obviously did a poor job of explaining my concept. I'll see if I can create a mockup of what I'm failing to describe.

Ok I did a quick mockup of what I was thinking. I'm no artist, so you'll still need your imagination to make this work.

The idea is the sections would allow drag'n'drop of items to and from them. Also, you can adjust all your sections of armor from any location and armor is allocated in 0.5 ton increments (via the left side).

Ah, okay. That looks much better. I wouldn't mind an implementation of this as a toggle for the mech lab display.

The big benefit of it would be when you're getting low on criticals due to endo-steel and/or ferro-fiberous armor. You'd see something like "2 (of 56) Critical Remaining" at the top and no section would show more than 2 available. Much less confusing than the current situation where you can't really tell how much you have available.

Also, being able to adjust my armor with fewer clicks would keep far more sane. Current system is a lesson in frustration.
