Have a suggestion here for FF armor.

I'm noticing for most builds aside from LRM boating, I don't really need that much ammo, and can safely store it in my legs, which no one ever shoots. On top of this, Double Heat Sinks can't fit in legs and most people use them, leaving that area free to load up with whatever nasty explosives I want. What I realized was that dead arms (arms without any hardpoint functionality) where effectively useless as anything -but- a shield, and though hey, why not improve the situation and open up a new ammo storage spot in an untraditional way;

Let Ferro Fibrous limit damage transfer from arms/legs to the side torsos in the way that CASE limits damage transfer to the CT from the side torsos. I know it isn't exactly canon, but FF desperately needs something to help make it relevant, and for the massive critical space it requires it just currently just lacks any purpose except on a few fringe builds that manage to have just enough criticals free that it can actually utilize it.

Now, I'm on the fence as to wether it could block damage transfer from ammo explosions or just cut it by 50%, but I think either option would be great. Maybe even make it so that any damage transfer at all is cut by 50% and that would be actually pretty nifty.

FF just need to also give 1 additional maximum armor capacity per each 8 present for each location. That's canon and makes perfect sense.

Not exactly, Canon FF doesn't increase the maximum armor a mech can mount, just decreases the weight of each so that 9 ferro fibrous points weigh as much as 8 standard. In other words, it's pretty weak sauce.

I'm not opposed to considering an implementation of what you're saying though. it needs -something-

Another take on it - What if FF allowed you to have reduced risk of ammo explosion? maybe 50% less likely your ammo would go up in smoke.

Isn't this what case is for? Why add case like abilities to FF armor?
