I personally, being a guy that owns 24 mechs (the max currently allowed) Was hoping it would be a system where, I could buy lots of paint. Hordes of it even. Then as it suits me paint my mechs as I please. I do not think pgi will make nearly as much money off of people like me, but maybe I am the minority. Im definitely not the minority in the group I play with. Perhaps we are in the grand scheme though. Thanks though pgi for putting in some content, this game desperately needs it and the more, the sooner, the better. Cant wait till next week when we get to see more mechs on the field in all their pretty colors when you bring 8 mans back.

Yup, I own too more than 10 mechs and I'm not certainly going to paint them all.. even considering that several can't even be painted or that just because you want to revert the yellow on a founder, you have to pay for it because it's a premium color.

I'll stick gladly with default military skins :)

I was wondering how long it would take someone to do this.

Now if I could just get the right shade of blue for some fast mech...

Right, Well I guess at the end of the day at least its fun blowing up big stompy mechs. Even if it is a total miss at what could have been a great source of revenue so we can finally get some content. I know SOE is a big company and all and Im not really enjoying planetside but sheesh the amount of well polished content already in that game is astounding. Its very hard to believe they started development around the same time. If we had one map 1/5th the size of a ps2 battlezone I would cream my sunday

Its odd that the PC gamer colors are washed out versions of the ones on the pattern. Kinda sneaky if you ask me.

My question is this for paints:

With the MC pants you buy, once you buy them once, does it then cost C-bills to apply the paints, or does it ALWAYS cost MC?

If it's "Buy pot of MC paint for mc once then pay c-bills to apply" I am ok with this, as I'm buying the color for MC and paying my techs the c-bills to paint the mech that color.

If It's "Always buy MC paints for MC no matter what." then I'm calling ******** and will not be paying money into this system.

I'm sorry... have you not played the game?
Premium status and founder mechs. They, by default, allow you to get more cbills. Theirs literally no argument against that which isn't a flat out lie.

So... are you going to stop lying about being a "poor pilot that can't make any money and is always in the negatives" Or are you going to start acting like an adult and give me a real rebuttal?

Methinks you're a little off base here, freeloader.

Right now the c-bill colors are the lesser evils. I accept those and upgrade/downgrade sinkholes because I can earn that again pretty fast even though I don't really like them. MC gets really expensive though. No, I'll be using pc gamer colors a lot for a while.

I too would be willing to pay signifigantly more per color/pattern it permenantly unlocked it for all the mechs in my mech bay.

As it stands I'm looking at $2.60 - $4.58 per variant to paint all my mechs in unit colors and that's a bit rich for this broke college student's blood.

By permanent I mean let us buy and customize a paint & color scheme, compare it to multiple mechs. Then be able to save it as its own custom skin slot. Something that can be switched out between mechs. That way we'll always be able to go back to a skin color we like once we get bored with our new one.

Just and idea.

Personally the cost of the color system right now isn't something that makes me want to spend money.

I'd rather spend 10 MC 100 times then 900 MC once.

I spent REAL money via MC to buy a dazzle Camo. I then experimented with other patterns and colors. When I went to repaint my mech dazzle it was going to RECHARGE me MC. This is theft. I should have to pay to "unlock" a pattern on a mech, heck, even pay to unlock it on each variant and chassis, but once purchased that pattern AND any other color you pay MC to unlock should be PERMANENTLY unlocked for that mech. PGI, I have been patient in my suffering, reporting bugs, encouraging slow change, but this is exploitation. Charge me REAL money to unlock something fine, RECHARGE me to go back, I don't think so.

IF this is a bug, consider it reported. If it is intentional, it is theft. PGI, please think responsibly and make patterns and colors unlocked with MC to be permanently unlocked for that variant.

Mods, why would you lock a thread with this OP?
It is valid feedback and should be discussed!
You want all your players to leave for Planetside 2? Because many did allready and there it is exactly like it should be: You buy a camo for your vehicle, or you buy a helmet for your character, and you keep it as an item, if you use it, another one, or none at all.

If you are going to recharge it is nothing but rip off.
Do you really want to be one of the companys riping off their f2p customers and get dumped by the most of them for it, or do you want to suceed? Because if you do, stop making decisions like this, this is ********.

The game feels broken as it is, yet you start to introduce more and more stuff to charge Real Money for and now you start to rip people off.
