Hi all. Really looking forward to the Highlander. Some of my concerns, though, have to do, not so much with the mech itself, but with the idea that using a Highlander in pugs means the other team has a chance to have an Atlas.
Assuming tonnage limits aren't going to be implemented, are there any real advantages to taking something like the Highlander over an Atlas in random drops? This goes for all weight classes. Taking a 45 ton Blackjack means the other team can have a Hunchback. Taking a Commando means chance for Raven/Jenner. Ad nauseum.
I hope I'm wrong here, but it seems to me that taking lighter mechs in each respective weight class means unnecessarily gimping your team. The only thing that can really solve this would be tonnage limits.

They need a battle value system to make it advantageous to take light for class mechs, otherwise the heaviest will nearly always be superior.

If you can't take teh Average Atlas in a Customized Highlander you shouldn't be in the Highlander anyway...

Matchmaker is still a work in progress. Presumably there will eventually be a better system than the weight-class matching we have now, probably tonnage but hopefully BV at some point.

I'd take a Highlander over an Atlas any day...I know you have two less medium lasers, but the Gauss beats the AC/20 (at least in this game), and besides, JJ's = Highlander Burial
