Wow immaturity and lack of education just seethes from this post. First learn how to spell; then wake up and see that your beloved game that you think you should be able to control who plays and who doesn't would die if you were in charge of it. Also MW4 can and probably did create some hardcore BT players. Not everyone who loves BT is old enough to remember the TT game from before the time of computers. I myself started with MW2 on DOS and backtracked into the novels, TT, and RPG.

Personally, I preferred some of the other Mech style games that came and went over the years. Earthsiege was a much better series and their mechs (herc's actually) had much better capabilities and made a lot more sense than BT mechs, but BT had the great lore to go with it. We have yet to see any of the lore implemented, which is what I find pretty disappointing.
What I agree with the elitists about is that MWO needs to be a quality game, and they won't get there by dumbing it down. How may games can you think of in the past 20 years that were a success by giving out cheesy gameplay? Why do you think the PC game market has been in the toilet for the past 10 years? And now there are just too many shortcuts being taken against the BT mech technology that it just doesn't make sense to me anymore. I find the game dumb. The tactics aren't even close to what a space faring race of warrior mechs would be dealing with. Some people may find the tactics fun as they are, but they aren't mech warfare, they're more 19th century Earth, and that just doesn't do it for me.
I don't see the game getting more detail though. It's going the way of the least common denominator, which will drive away the core crowd, and if you lose them, there just won't be much left to bring in new players.

The same reason so many people love it is why I dislike it, it's too easy. It was funny when Cataclysm came out and they made the game a bit less forgiving - people screamed to the high heavens. While certainly not a perfect game - it had its issues (spawn camping for XP, week long random spawn camps for drops, and deleveling are quick examples) - I prefer the design of the original EQ in it's first 3 or so years of existence.
If easy and immediate are what are fun for people, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

The community is going soft. We need to restore what made Battletech good. The Eliteist mindset is sorely lacking in Pubs. If we went back to a more hardcore attitude the Pubs would improve quality of play. If we are given a chance to police the Pubs stop Suicide rushers,AFKers ect. This game would be better.
What the hell happend to "love and tolerate" again?

Good points. I too liked the original EQ better. WoW did remove the grind, and that won out, but yes, it did succeed by finding that easy point. WoW got lucky and found that sweet spot, where there was still enough challenge (raid game), but the grind was faster and they catered to the single player more. But look how many games failed after that trying to be even easier than WoW. Tabula Rasa comes to mind. Games that dumbed gameplay down further have not succeeded as well.

Like it or not. This game needs a true Elitist mindset in order to surive.
People who are against it are people who probably did not spend a dime on this game. I spend 200 dollars already.
I demand proof that an Elitist Mindset will keep this game alive.
Your $200 will not build a game and keep it running for 5 years.
This game should end up costing roughly $32,000,000.00 over the course of 5 years, taking into account payback of initial investment, equipment, salaries, and maintenance.
That means that over the next 5 years, 640,000 people will each have to contribute an average of $50 to meet that goal.
In summary, I can only conclude that you are 1 of 2 things: A Troll, or a Moron
Pick one, have a coke and a smile, and ST*U.

Your 200 Dollars arent enough for paying the whole team one hour.
Ask the devs what every elitist have to pay to go on with this game, every month.
