Yeah, not really an elegant solution this. Ah well, at least it was free.

Anyway, you cant go back to original PC gamer camo if you do any color modification, it saves the washed out colors even if you go back to default.

free ah no i paid for the issue just to get the pc gamer colors. if not i could have pay for mc. I as i said before is a bait and switch.

It would be nice if you COULD go back to what I paid $8.99 for.

Hi there!

The colours were dulled intentionally on this patch as they were too bright compared to other base colours being put in.

So let me get this right, I paid $9 bucks just so that you (PGI) could then force me to paid again to get those colors back? Niko Snow, you don't see an issue with that? Really?

They could at least have it so when you click the 'PC gamer' color pattern, it reverts back to the original version, after which, we can mess around with it once more.

We can't go BACK to the PC Gamer color scheme once we altered it. (Same with the base colors, btw, which you CAN'T revert back to.)

It must have made you feel dirty to be forced to tell everyone that instead of havin a dev say it.

On topic!

Takin away legitimately bought and paid for content from people so you can charge them more to get it back is incredibly wrong. Not only is it wrong, this is just goin along with their already set precedent of takin away stuff that people have enjoyed and used and puttin it behind a paywall. Except now they've taken it a step further and took somethin that already was behind a time sensitive pay wall and put it behind another pay wall.

This. Is. Wrong

I don't care that its "simply cosmetic." I dont care that they only advertised the "skin" and not the "skin and colors." I care that people have paid for and used and gotten used to a certain thing in game. They spent real money on this and had it delivered to them in a certain condition. This condition was not a bug, it was not a mistake, it was the advertised look that people bought and paid for. This look is now no longer somethin they can use unless they pay more money.

PGI we are calling you out! You "intentionally" did this and we are "intentionally" asking for our money back or for you to correct this now. It makes me wonder what's the next promotion that will be "intentionally" changed once you get our money? You have set a very bad precedent here and now its time for you to make it right.........Were waiting............

I'm not happy about this but I don't feel ripped off. The cover of my December 2012 PC gamer reads " free bobblehead and mech skin inside". I admit that I purchased the issue because of Mechwarrior Online but, I paid for the issue of the mag because I like to collect stuff like that. The in game stuff is just a bonus. Bottom line, we did not pay for this skin, it was given to us because we bought something else. It is a bit shady though.

Yeah, I'll definitely manage and keep playing, but that it a straight up **** move. I don't know if it's legal, nor do I care to find out, but something tells me, that a lot of people here will. Please fix this.

this is technically illegal,

first- we paid for the issue of PC gamer to get the skin: anything that was paid for has to be kept in the original condition unless express authorization was given by the creators (ALL OF THEM) to change the form.

second- This is PC Gamer's signature colors and technically their intellectual property, it's like recoloring the Pepsi logo's colors to black, brown and green. this is wrong PGI,and you know it.

lastly- you expect us to pay AGAIN for a service promised to us. this is illegal and businesses can be brought to court for a breach of contract. we held up our part of the bargain, hold up yours dammit.

I believe at this point the only way to make me happy is to:

1. Give us the original PCG colors for free

2. Let us keep the colors you gave us already in place of them as I've used them in some paint schemes.

This is the only fair and equitable solution.

You are right, you paid for the PC Gamer and NOT for the skin! The skin was a free gift in this issue of the pc gamer so stop crying about it!

I really don't understand why everyone is so upset! There was never written, we also get any colours of the skin for free! It only said we get a skin, which you actually have and a Coconut Monkey, which you also have. So the colours were a free gift to you! Why cant you simply take them, say thank you and stop being upset?

Thank you

People paid for the entire product which includes any promotional material attached to said product regardless of whether it was free or not.

Only part I really disagree with is this. I thought PGI had said that in the inital concept that most everything that could be bought with MC could also be bought with CB. I mean, even if it was decent bit to buy with cbills, it would still be nice to not have to spend MC to paint EVERY mech. Now it seems IGP is just milking us.

If you modify ANY colors you can't go back. I tried switching to the default pattern then changing colors, but when I switched back, the colors stayed modified on the PC Gamer pattern. No more bright red for me =/

The problem is, if you ever change your skin, YOU CAN'T GET THE PC GAMER ONE BACK. I unlocked the skin, with it's color and pattern, and I expect to be able to use it when I please. If PGI wants to make purchased items become un-purchased when I change them, then I'm not ever going to use MC except for mech bays.

ah no the law is if you promise {contract} and the purchase you have to deliver the product. I would not have bought the mag if i was not going to get the "promised" Contract skin.

So what the f uck are they going to lie about next

The ones that should be upset the most should be PC Gamer themselves. It was "their" promotion and you can clearly see this by just looking at "their" remarks in PC Gamer on page 98 where you find the code at. And I quote from the Executive Editor Evan Lahti,

"We cannot clothe you directly (at best, bending our magazine into a tube produces a questionable and rigid shoe), but we can dress your enormous war robot. This month, we're pleased to offer two free MechWarrior Online items alongside our cover story. One is a skin: think of it as one of those adorable puppy sweater, but meant to inspire terror in your opponents. We're also putting Coconut Monkey, our humble mascot, in your cockpit as an exclusive in-game bobblehead. You're welcome. Our colors will protect you. Assuming, of course, that you're doing your mech-fighting on a planet that is entirely red and black. Hey, maybe Piranaha Games' next MechWarrior Online map will be set in a lipstick factory at night. In that highly-specific scenario, you will be invisible. Our MechWarrior Online skin works with any mech. And as brave teammates die in battle (possibly from stopping to type: "Dude, where'd you get that skin?") when they enter spectator mode they'll be able to spot your Coconut Monkey bobblehead nodding along inside your virtual cockpit. Many bumper stickers claim God as a co-pilot. By furnishing your robotic war cabin with the elusive longtime mascot of PC Gamer, however, you call upon a greater force: a reappropriated, digitized Hawaiian souvenir. He has no hands, but he does have an unflappable demeanor, even in the face of harrowing laser attacks."

As you can clearly see by the text above where I have high lighted the skin and its colors are clearly PC Gamers intellectual property and changing said colors would be a breach of contract. What PGI did to this promotion is clearly wrong and underhanded

PGI do the right thing and reinstate the correct colors. There are a ton of shades of red and black you could of used for your "pay to use" colors..........
