Hi Ogre,
in 3048, the Black Watch is a semi-secret society laying hidden on Northwind with many of it's membership being drawn from the ranks of the Northwind Highlanders themselves. While they live for the day where they can restore and rejoin the SLDF, that day is not yet due.
At this point, The Star League is considered by many in the Inner Sphere as an antiquated idea. Each of the Great Houses only seek to use the imagery of the Star League as a means to seize power and dominate the Inner Sphere. The Black Watch know this and know that should the reveal themselves they would be forced to abandon their ideals and serve one of these petty Lords of Succession.
And so, they wait.
Colonel Kiel Randor
Commanding Officer,
Northwind Highlanders
*ahem, not a member of any secret society.... nudge nudge, know what I mean?

Also the Black Watch was wiped out as it defended Richard Cameron the second when Stefan Amaris brutally slaughtered the family. Any existing Black Watch is simply a wishful thinking group of men that want to believe they were part of a legacy...though they could realistically be the great great great...ect. progeny of the original warriors, if they had any. Although if that is the case I think anyone loyal to the star league rather than an inner sphere disposition should have gone with Kerensky...but hey I am a Clansman.

Hail Black Watch. I used to command the Royal Black Watch way back in the early days of MW4, merged with the Northwind Highlanders later on and faded away from the game in '03. Hope some of the lads are still about.
Echoing what the guys said above the Black Watch is a shadow unit at this point in time but if you do form them up please keep the highest ideals of the Star League in mind or a few disgruntled lads like myself will seek you out and set you straight. Good luck and hope to fight alongside yall on the battlefield.
