Pug in no way equates bad people, in the same breath a premade pickup group is not always good people.

Take myself for example, i am your quintessential average person. I dont excel at anything but I do bring average to a group or pug when i do. I would rather have someone less skilled on my team than someone who looks down on other peoplefrom his mountain top.

Couldn't agree more.
The problem is that some people (like the op) cant deal with their own failure, thats where all this hate is coming from.
I imagine he played in a 8man premade and the pug-stomping went to his head, now every time he looses it must be clearly the fault of stupid pugs, since he is so awesome.

I had a funny game just now:
pretty close, 2 last survivors on the enemy team capping our base with a head-start (atlas, k2 cat) and 2 of us capping their base (Atlas, pretty banged up Raven).
We also had one healthy Jenner, who, instead of returning to our base went for the enemy base and kept writing "someone defend our base", "morons, defend our base".
Shortly before we lost he wrote "Stupid f*cking pug morons" .. made me laugh..hard :P

You will find in life as in this game the people who cry the loudest or b!tch the most in a match have just had a bad day and take it out on the first person who trips them off. I am guilty of doing it and apologize to anyone who seen the bad side of me, we all have it just remember its not always everyone elses fault when you lose, sometimes its the common denominator of you just playing bad. Trust me I know.

Either you didnt read anything but the first post or you have zero reading comprehension. I dont have a problem with people who play pugs. I jave a problem with being forced with my 3 buddy's to be on a team with 2 afkers a bot and a suicider. amongst other nasty things that pugs bring in with them. I pug sometimes. In fact I have only been in my unit for like two months. I understand that there is a barrier but now that I've crossed it Id rather, personally only play with, and against skilled people with team tactics working together from the mechlab to the score board. One of the only good things that's came out of this 4 man nonsense is finding a few good pugs and recruiting them to our unit.

I feel sorry for you that you dont know how unbelievably fun it is to have a solid 8v8 match of skills players. Its what battletech was made for. In the tabletop game you control several lances or stars at a time. Its hard enough to get that kind of unit cohesion in teamspeak with friends let alone in a pug with a bunch of randoms you might not see again for days. If the devs truly are the battletech fans they say they are the pug only even exsists to keep the game in the money, which obviously needs to happen. The easiest most simple solution that I truly cant belive we will probably not ever get before the game implodes is just giving us our own rooms to launch from. With our own rules (ton limits, game type, battle value ETC..) **** even cod has a version of that. It was also the backbone of every prior mechwarrior games online experiences. Its to bad this game is so damn great to play because mech4 sure does have an awesome multilayer suit.

First part, that's not the game I attempted to fund heading into this.

Second part, how long has this game been around? Give it time to be fleshed out.

So I have to ask. Why do you want an arena game vs a server browser? Assuming for the moment that CW will fit within that type of game, etc. Basically we'd have all the features we have now except server browsers and larger map sizes/player counts.

Maybe cause It doesn't run for more than 5 minutes without a game-breaking bug or CTD now?

p.s Kevin spoke to me yesterday. I asked him if he was playing or farming and he replied with some maths as to how he is earning C-bills faster than anyone.

Good question. I was basing it under no assumptions, only what they have stated they want the game to be, and would want them to concentrate resources on the CW piece of the game. I guess if CW does work in that context then I wouldn't mind.

That is a big assumption though you have to admit with the size of their team currently.

We ended up with an 8 man group yesterday, still lost against pubbies.
(2 of our groups on the same teamspeak got matched together on the same team. Incredibly lucky)

I believe I was one of your opponents in that match. B) Your team announced you were a double premade iirc? I warned our team to defend and amazingly enough they listened. May have been another team but your name is familiar. Was normal forest colony map.

No idea on if we were all pugs or not, if there was a premade on our side they weren't talking. I was waiting for a spot to open up in one of our groups and don't mind pugging usually, I like long odds fights. :)

The problem is the man hours of effort and expertise at PGI.

PGI has limited resources for development man hours and limited subject matter experts to help them successfully navigate major issues like say "NetCode", "Collision Detection" and "Match Making".

When you couple the issues in the development pen due to constraints in capacity to churn code and the knowledge base to develop eloquent plans of attack for major game play issues and add them to the Business issues of needing to meet the hurdle rate for cost of ownership, operations and payback of core investors and you get the kind of cr4p we have today.

Understand the cause and know the effects and you will drink less at night.
