The game is in beta, crashes alot, has little content, and what they do offer is overpriced, why put any money on it? When they finish the game and get realistic with their pricing maybe things will change but now it's simply not worth it. If they're going to be in perpetual beta so they have no feature deadlines to meet, then expect people to withhold their money until the game is released and functioning properly.

I think both sides might kinda be missing the point. This game is still a BETA...

Players who participate, and that's anyone who wants because it's an OPEN BETA, are like free labor play testers. We're only allowed to play because they WANT us to break their game. That way, they figure out how to fix the problems we're all whining about, so when it goes full-on public it works.

But no one has ever paid for an open BETA, or at least I've never heard of such a thing.

It goes both ways. Nonetheless, until the word "BETA" goes away, I'm not worried about the bugs too much, nor the perceived over/undermatch of certain capabilities, mechs, etc. It's a freaking BETA already!

PGI must have revenue for us to have a great MWO game. They are a for profit organization even though they made a game F2P. The guys who work there don't do it for free I have hopes that they will do good enough to one day turn this into a full blown MMO rather than just a Sim with Community warefare fluf. Spend a tiny bit of money on it to support it. $20 for that mech your grinding will go a long way if enough people do it to let them hire additional Developers and possibly expand their long term goals for the game. I mean look how Eve grew over the years. It was not cause it was free. All I am saying is if you love Battletech, Mechwarrior and want to see this game explode in features and content that you spend a little on it to support the guys working on it and there investors if you can. I will say I think their prices are still to high and lowering them would result in additional revenue and not less but thats for them to decide.

Hey bro....they already made a reputed $5 mill on the founders purchases..... What have they done with that??

I would gladly pay for paint if I could keep them.

I will gladly pay for mechs and mechbays because I can keep them.

Totally agree! I don't know of any other F2P model where you don't get to keep the items that you buy with real money. I can totally understand them charging a price for every mech that you want to apply it to, but it should stay in your inventory, and not be thrown into oblivian if you want to change to a different pattern. I for one will not pay for the patterns unless this is fixed. I am totally for a C-Bill cost everytime that you want to switch patterns that you OWN though.

The Beta thing is pure semantics bro...sophistry at its best. Sorry, that excuse doesnt work anymore when you launch, and start taking money for a cash shop.
