This being said people just because you got beat by some who is good doesn't mean they are cheating. Lets try not to bog down our devs with everyone calling everyone else cheaters because someone lost. Every pilot who is good knows what it is like to be called a hacker if you are gonna throw the blame game around please get proof first.

Most cheating methods involve finding some kind of exploit in the game that gives you or your team and edge. The good cheaters out there keep it close to their chest/unit and and use it to subtly to give them the edge in a fight, they [don't make it obvious]. It's not until someone lets it slip or someone else in the community finds out about it and it goes live, then the "Ah ah .. that's how they are doing it!" moment comes. The damage has already been done by then though. These kinds of characters just hold up their hands and say; " Hey, you got me ... okay what now? A month ban? I can hack that, thanks! lol See ya in a month suckers."

The only solution to getting rid of cheaters/hackers in F2P games is to ban by Hardware ID.
So that if the hacker wants to play said F2P game again they will have to buy a new HDD or a new motherboard.
But in the case of APB (all points bulletin reloaded) the mods kind of turned a blind eye to hardware ID bans because most hackers cheaters on that game continued to dump real $$ into the cash shop. Why get rid of a paying customer?
In closing, the only real way to get rid of this filth is with a hardware ban and let's just give piranha the benefit of the doubt that the gamer experience is worth more to them than $$.

Piranha I have faith in you.

Or, you know, spoof the hardware id. Of course, we don't have to worry about that, because as we all know, cheaters don't frequent message boards where hacks like that are discussed.

IMO WoT and many other F2P games opened themselves up for cheaters/hackers/ect when they allowed the mods to be applied to the game.

Most of them started out right and insta banned modders and the like, but soon gave in making the game near unwinable to those that were on the other side or didnt have the "mods" . Making unfair gameplay, frustrated players and soon after a dead game except for those that "cheated/modded".

Just a diffrent prospective..BTW love the idea of cheaters vs cheaters..a bit of there own medicine..

punkbuster was always the bane to my exsistance when i was playing the battlefield franchise it did catch some of the hackers but it also liked to lose packets and drop you from game then not allow you to join any other servers until you uninstalled/reinstalled PB and then you would be able to play for about a week to a month and then you had to do it again hated that then and still dont think PB is worth a hoot.

Solution: Ban their hardware id (HWID) so that they require a new mother board to continue cheating. (50-300$!)

To all you "anti-blacksheep" idiots.

#1) If you don't trust someone with your game, don't give them your bloody password.

Since you guys all love analogys: If someone is reckless, don't give them the keys to your car, if they smash it, it's your own fault for trusting them with it. Get mad at them. It's not unfair in any way, nobody is getting hurt, no innocents are being reprimanded for it except you, and it is because you trusted them with your password. Not just out of the blue.

If your game gets banned because someone used your account, then it's your own fault for letting them use it. And of course there could be appeals to this process as well, just make sure that IPs are always logged upon log in, so that if someone does manage to get your password remotely and get you banned you could appeal it. Perhaps even use the similiar log-in authentication security that WoW uses to prevent external log-ins for people who are worried about remote log ins banning their accounts.

Any game that has people from the SA forums will have a cheat program of some sort running fairly quickly after game launchs. Alex is already posting around here like he is a god and the SA crowd laps it up.

well speaking of cheaters, pizzadudecook has an aim bot that works. and he proved it works.Instant head shots on anyone he fires on. How are these guys creating code in a game who's code is more then likely encrypted. If they wish to find these guys, all they have to do is use the search engine to find aim bot/ cheats for mwo and they will find them with easy. From there they can figure out who is responsible and who in their company leaked out their code.In the end , the code these hackers use come from someone in the company who has access.
do the math, a 64bit encryption is hard to break with basic programming plus a basic computer. If they have the encryption data ..... but hey i guess the code breaker programs are better then what we thought.Considering only a hand full of people on the planet actually has access to the type of program needed to break anything past 64bit.

Not read it all but agree with Paul on first page, and just to say I've played literally thousands of games and seen maybe 1 "dodgy" incident that I'm happy to resolve by also saying I was pretty drunk at the time.
