The new paint system has added a good way to personalize in game witch is great. I like that is gives PGI a way to bring in more MC but the way the system is I think needs some tweaking. Now right now when you buy a custom pattern it is only on that mech and if you put another one on it you loss the old one. I am fine with this this makes it so when people want a new pattern they have to pay for it. Now the part I do think needs changed is the colors. Right now I will not be painting that much as the colors are way overpriced for 1 time use. The current price of colors would make since if you owned that color once you bought it and could apply it to any pattern on any mech. I mean to buy 1 color for each mech in my bay right now would be over 5,000 cbills, for 3 colors each it would be 15,750 MC That is with no patterns at all. now if you added a pattern and 3 colors to each of my mechs that would be 21,000 MC so to fully paint 21 mechs cost more then $80 right now. This is way to high to really be worth doing.
Now if you changed it so you owned the colors once bought the color Things would be brought down to a reasonable number. Lets say I buy 8 colors for my 21 mechs that is 2,000 MC, then I buy a pattern for each that is 5,250 MC. SO for a pattern for each of my 21 mechs and just 8 colors this way it would be 7,250 MC witch is still a large amount of MC for a person to go through. Of course even my method when people apply a new pattern they have to pay for it.
With this system I think allot more people would spend MC on painting there mechs because it would not cost a observed amount to do it.

I'd like it a lot better if you were able to "own" colors you buy, even if they were priced higher. I definitely don't mind shelling out money for custom unit colors, but outfitting a large garage full of mechs using premium colors becomes very cost prohibitive. I think it might be a better plan to expand the pallet and camo pattern choices and cost them in such a way that once you buy that color, you own it. Heck, you can even set higher prices for highly desirable colors. With a large enough selection for people to play with, you'd get a ton of money from people who just have to have every color alone.
