But only barely. He has some of their ideals, but really it was an excuse to make a FWL hero born a Cappy to hunt, with a lame *** reason, FS Cataphs. I like the sound of the hero CTF, but the pilot back story is just terrible writing all around. I'm half tempted to write something better just to show PGI how to do a back story.

Go for it, whats the worst they can say, no? Maybe you'll get offered a job considering they are hiring.

As far as the equipment goes... well PGI already said they are willing to modify mech loadouts on certain hero mechs that are too similar to the base variants. I'd rather them do that then come up with this horrible backstory. Two bad paragraphs does not make a hero mech. If you want to release it and call it a "special" variant then so be it, but there's nothing hero about this. If appealing to old-school BT fans is the purpose behind calling these special MC-only mechs "hero" mechs then you should stick to cannon, right? Why call it a Hero mech when there is no real backstory or history behind the mech? There is no nostalgia factor boosting sales on the muromets, people will want to try it just because it's a different build with c-bill boost.
Make special MC-only variants all you want, just don't call it a hero mech when there is no real lore or fanbase for this guy. Yen-lo-wang was featured in multiple BT novels, and was a miniature that many BT fans played with, and that by itself makes some players want to pilot it. Can't say the same about Muromets.

Can't you make YLW just as easily? The only thing that has going for it is the paintjob.

I dont buy it sir lol!!
You could have said to the community " Okay guys, we are going to do the Lucky 13 as the next Hero Mech, but because its Hardpoints are too similar to others in game, we need to alter them a bit to make it unique...We are keeping the story and keeping in canon though, and this is a better alternative then making something up out of scratch".

I got no problem with making a hero mech from scratch, BUT.....
I don't see why you don't just go ahead and make lucky 13 too.... Slap the skin on it, and 30% c-bill boost. People will buy it, you'll make money...and it will have cost you a minimum of time/resources....and we'll have 2 hero cataphracts which = More content....more content is rarely bad. If people don't think it is worth buying they don't have to buy it..
P.S. I don't like the skin on the muromet...it is really bland for a hero mech skin that we can't change the colors on. Would be nice if we could at least change the colors but be forced to keep the pattern.
...And this one thing will probably keep me from buying this hero mech. ;(
