Thats about it. the Catapult with twin streak missiles needs to be fixed. its over powered and aggravating to fight. you can only kill it at long range or with 2 or 3 guys on hand. Fix this.

Introduce ECM that works and let Ravens be the solution. While ECM is in effect locks break randomly and take longer to obtain. Streams should still be able ot be dumb fired however.

Gives the Raven a real role, but also makes them a target..... they need to run away which makes other mechs vulnerable. but also gives larger mechs incentive to protect them.

I have lost count how ive been ganged up by 2 streak cats 5 matches in a row, this is absolutely irritating, and it's ruining the game.

I've been on both ends of the streak Cats, and I've just 1 irritating thing to point out:

The build isn't the problem, the guy on the receiving end is.

Streak Cats are easy to outmanuever, easy to outrun, and easy to destroy if you approach them with any tactics but a straight shot.

Every build has a weakness. The weakness of the Streak Cat is two-fold: They are horrible at circle-strafting, and they are horrible outside of 280m. So, your options are:

Get in close and tear them apart.

OR

Sit back and rip them to shreds from a distance.

Either works equally well, neither has ever let me down.

I've also been on both ends of a streak cat and they do have vulnerabilities, especially to LRM's. Also most of my deaths when I'm in a streak cat come from people who try to get behind me and not just stand in front of me making themselves a big vulnerable target. Also the SSRM's explode in flight at a range of 275m so the missiles are no good past that.

Most of the kills i get with a streak cat are on the people that once they start getting hit turn tail and try to run away instead of trying to flank or out manuever me, or stand there and stare at me button mashing hoping their guns will fire faster.

Most of my kills of streak cats when im in other mechs like the CN9-? come from me getting behind them or enough to the side of them to break their lock as they cant fire until they have a solid target lock.

That said it seems like all the people that complain about the streak cats are the ones that try to stand in front of them and go toe to toe with them which is a losing battle unless you can put 2-3 ac/20 rounds in a row right in the cockpit window.

@ Nebuzar, using a jenner i was unable to flank a cat, but was able to stay out of its firing arc. The problem may not be there with pilot skills.

The problem with the reciving end is that it tends to only target center torso.
-Using old table top weapon damage as an example-
A light mech with 30~ CT armor
takes SSRM6 x2 (12 missiles)
SRM deals 2 damage per missile, 2 x 6 is 12 since theres 2 units its 24 to center torso.
more damage then an AC 20. Also has more shots then an AC 20 per tonne.

SSRMs doent have a turning arc, they just tend to do a 180 mid flight, so if they miss they just hit your rear armor or your front if your running.

And with the new update
* LRM damage has been increased from 1.7 to 1.8 per missile
This would suggest that SRMs are doing more then 2 per missile. If LRMs get a damage increase of 1.7, lets say that SRMs get 1.5 increase. So the 2 damage per missile becomes 3. Then that means the total damage would be 36. If a player places all 44 (the max) in the forward facing center torso, two shots should almost or kill it. (72 -44=28 damage to IS.)

Their ears are vulnerable, their damage output isn't very high, They aren't all that fast. I don't see a big problem here.

I'm not saying they aren't annoying. There's nothing worse than getting targeted by the guy who sacrificed the majority of his damage output so that he wouldn't have to aim. I just don't think they are effective enough to warrant a nerf.
