So the game has been getting worse worse and worse me (read: unplayable) thanks to the patches adding more visual flair and not increasing optimization one bit. When I began playing the game in closed beta back a few months the game ran great 30+ FPS on my computer and was enjoyable for all, albeit with bugs and whatbnot yes, but at least it ran smooth-ish.

Like clockwork every major patch has decreased my frame rate by 3-6 FPS (no joke) after the November 20th patch I am all but unable to even play the game anymore, even missile boating is nearly impossible because by the time I actually lock-on that target is lost or 100m away from where I was aiming.

PGI had promised dual core optimizations and have not done ANYTHING to help with the catastrophe which is their dual core support. While I understand this engine is based for Quad core CPU's I find it unnerving that I play Crysis 2 at over 30fps no problem (medium-high) settings just fine.

It is with a heavy heart (because I absolutely ADORE this damn game) that I am quitting playing until one of two (or both) conditions are met:

1) PGI implements better coding and optimizes dual core support.

2) January rolls around and I can afford to upgrade my PC.

It was an honor playing with you guys, and I look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

And to end this post I feel an appropriate quote would be:

Retreat? Hell. I'm just advancing in the opposite direction.

Get a new rig sir.

Even my shltty quad core phenom circa 2008 w/ a decent 560 nvidia card runs this game pretty good.
