One Thing This Game Sorely Needs...

A reconnect system based off what League of Legends currently has would benefit this game immensely. For those who do not know...
if you disconnect for any reason, you CANNOT queue, join, or do anything other than reconnect to the game you disconnected from, until that game is over. This means there is no rage quitting and instantly starting a new match. If you quit, you HAVE to wait until your current match is over before you can do anything other than attempt to reconnect.
What this will accomplish:
1)suicide farming is no longer an issue, at all. Having this system means there is no gain at all in overheating, running out of bounds, or running headlong into the enemy team at the start of the match. You will gain more money/xp by playing every game, and there is no way to increase your rate of farming since you have to be in the game. It also means you don't have to redesign the current system in order to try and fix this issue.
2)promote smarter play. The current gametype is similar to Search and Destroy(from other FPS games). You get one life, with two objectives:Kill the other team, or destroy(capture) a target, area, etc. Anyone whos played call of duty will note that player skill is much higher in Search and Destroy than, say, team deathmatch, for the sole reason that you only get one chance. With the current system, if you fuckup and streak through the enemy team and die, you can just disconnect and loadup with a different mech and go right into a new game. With the newer system, you would have to watch your team. This means that people who normally play suicidal would be more inclined to use teamwork and make smarter choices, such as not running through the enemy team completely alone.
3)Give a workaround for all the glitches. Although they will be worked out over time, there are currently a metric **** ton of gamebreaking glitches, including crash to desktops, FPS bugs, texture bugs, gold screen, and others. Having a reconnect option would give someone with one of these bugs the option of alt-f4ing at the start of the match and restarting their client.
What are your opinions? Post other advantages, disadvantages, your opinions, what you would change with my suggestion, anything(as long as its somewhat on topic)

Forcing people to sit and watch the remainder of the game before they can start anew will not help newer players gain/keep interest in the game, it would only hinder the experience. Remember, in a F2P atmosphere, it is the retention of the new people who pick up the game that is the make or break factor.
I feel like you're really just trying to hammer on the suiciders. In which case, simply establish a "Deserter" status if one disconnects/suicides (once the game is more or less bug-free) within 60 seconds of the game, then prevent them from rejoining que for 10 minutes.

On the contrary, the newer players will get an opportunity to watch others play, and may get ideas on how to survive longer.

There is no reason to force a new player to do so. If they want to learn there are countless YouTube videos available for them to watch. Making them do so just fosters discontent.

You are not forcing them to stay and watch. If they leave the match they can not load into another mech until that match is finished.
Lock all mechs trial/founder/or otherwise until the match you were in is finished.
Also, add the reconnect feature so people that do get a disconnect (which currently is pretty common) can rejoin and not be punished.

It's only a punishment if you are first to die in every single match. And if you ARE first to die every single match... well, maybe you deserve it then.
If it is really to big of a deal, however, the system can be modified to allow leaving once a player has died. Either way, reconnect is one of the most sorely needed features.

Watch how other players don't die immediately every match. Eat your damn vegetables too.

Search and Destroy from the call of duty franchise is similar, although there are multiple rounds. Let me tell you, you learn VERY fast not to run out in the open, and it is not nearly as punishing as people here seem to think. You die first.. you watch and cheer your team, and next time you play, you sure as hell don't make the same mistake you made the previous round(unless you are a slow learner, but that third times a charm... xD)

There is no reason at all to force people to watch other people fail at doing anything productive.
They should totally punish people for disconnecting purely to avoid a Death on their K/D ratio.
Actually, the funny thing about this is that when they implement ELO type matchmaking... if they appear to be "better" than they really are because they have a high K/D ratio... they'll be stuck getting matched in matches with players who actually ARE better than them, meaning their cbill earning rate will nose dive through getting stomped all the time.
Great way to massively shoot yourself in the foot.
