If this has already been seen or talked about... I apologize.

But I seen some pics of the Catapult in the Mech Lab and the Flamer is on its list of Weapons. I CAN PUT FLAMETHROWERS on the PPC Variant.

yeah... large laser on each side and flamers for those who close on you. If that Atlas comes at you, Heat him up, shut him down and lay into him with the large lasers. The-flamer would be a good stop measure for those pesky light mech too. Cook off that ammo :D

Has there been any word? Someplace else I mean.

Are flamers damage-only or do they heat ya up too?

What about inferno SRM-2s? Remember MW2, boating like 12 of those and cooking off everything in site in minutes?

I'll be curious to see how flamers are balanced in MWO.

If I understood the hardpoint system correctly, it's one energy weapon to one energy weapon, AND you need to meet the critical requirement. So wouldn't that mean you could have a Catapult variant with... a single flamer in each arm? That doesn't sound especially impressive to me.

I'm noticing there are a ton of energy hardpoints on the K2.

you could fit 8 flamers and 4 MG's w/2 tons of ammo, a 5/8 engine with 4 JJ's, endo steel and full coverage on ferro fibrous. Double heatsinks with 13 total would be heat neutral for you...

Seems pretty boat-tastic :D

Ah, and this shall be my "PaulTrollKiller"!

I won't even try to kill him with it. Just keep him permanently shut down.

Im not sure how to read that pic tho. It shows the PPC that takes up 3 slots in that arm but the energy restrictions say 1/2. Now... does that mean you can put up to 2 energy weapons in that arm? As that arm has a total of 10 slots if im seeing that right? That could mean you can put 2 PPCs in that arm taking up 6 of the 10 slots leaving 4 slots for components or extra armor? If that is the case, could i put 2 PPCs in each arm? Or would this make it to heavy? Also... if the 2 energy slot restrictions is per arm, then i could put 2 flamers in each arm for 4 total if I wanted? Sorry for all the questing but im now confused on the restriction to slot ratio.

You can even see the flamer in action at the 1:27 mark of the Light Mech Developer Breakdown video.

Cheers.

great catch! Now is that a Dragon torching the Catapult? I cant make out the mech with the Flamers but it looks like either a dragon or hunchback. The blueish gas effect of the flame closer to the flamer barrel looks NICE!

It was a Hunchback. Looking at all the information, I believe a Hunchback could mount 6 flamers on its arms alone.

lol... have the AC in the chest and maybe 2 medium lasers (1 in each arm) and 4 flamers (2 in each arm) this would make the hunchback a beast in close!
