System

Processor: Intel E8400 (3.0 GHz Dual Core) not overclocked
RAM: 4 Gigs
Windows Vista 64 (yes its fully updated to the most current patch)
Nvidia Gtx 9800 Ultra (1 Gig of RAM on the card, and yes I have the most current drivers)

Now, I know that this seems like a terribly low end system, it is, but prior to this latest patch I was running at 60 fps (40 when the action was heavy) and yes, that is with everything (and I do mean everything) turned down as low as it will go and no vsync, nothing running in the background except teamspeak.

This patch same settings, nothing in the background except teamspeak and my framerate is 40 fps 20 when the action is heavy. My system has not changed so I conclude that the patch must be the cause.

What I want to know is have other people running similar systems experiencing a similar drop in fps, has anyone found out why, are there any workarounds? (yes I do delete my cache and my shaders folder every other match)

I don't know what's wrong with your setup, but my laptop with an over-specced CPU and under-specced GPU actually gained FPS with these last two patches. Went from a barely playable 9-13 FPS to 12-19.

If it'll help, though, there's an entire subforum here devoted to workarounds; I recommend the thread by BladesXXL about modding the user.cfg. Still, I'd start by running software (like Afterburner) to find out if you're bottlenecking in the CPU or GPU.

Buy a new graphics cards thats a major bottleneck for you, overclock your CPU, i have the same one and its running at 4.5Ghz its so easy to do, just make sure you have a decent cooler.

since the last patch I have been getting the framerate "BUG".

happens always (at least once every round) on forrest colony and occaisonally on other maps, also when spectating.

I never had this problem until this patch. have heard others mention it, but now it is happening very often to me and is making the game nearly unplayable.

is there any intent to fix this issue? since so many are experiencing this problem I find it hard to believe it is just me...

thanks,

B E

I'm wary when people say upgrade. Mainly because there's another major CryEngine 3 game my system can run on high settings at a high res.

Players across the board have reported fps gains or drops with specs far more powerful than yours OP.

Even the last hotfix dropped my fps down further. Yay more stuttering.

Intel Duo 6320 OCed to 2.8 GHZ
6 GB Ram
Nvidia 650Ti
Win & 64 bit

Ditto for me also on framerates have tanked cpu is maxed out. I know the CPU is past its prime but the game has been playble till recently. Lowered resolution 1280 X 720 Lowest settings on effects and still barely getting 10-15 FPS less when battle heats up. CPU is definately the bottle neck. I'll probably use it as an excuse to build a new I7 rig been wanting to for awhile.

I'm not sure who there targeting system wise but not everyone can afford to have the latest and greatest.
