I just started out yesterday. Ive bought the medium mech how do i increase the ammount of slots and change armor to ff armor?

The amount of slots remain the same for any mech (critical slots).
Do NOT get FF armor. It will not increase the amount of armor you have (the maximum will remain the same). If you want to save weight, get Endo Steel and Double Heatsinks is usually a good deal too. Again, stay away from Ferro. It is bad.
You might get better advice if you post what mech you are upgrading and your preferred playstyle.
