It would be nice to be able to MC buy colors for a group, instead of a particular Mech.

Here´s the idea: instead of buying a pattern/colors combo for 1 Mech (which right now costs around 1000 MC), you can ALSO buy a three color combo as a "Group Coloring" for more than that (say, around 4k-5k). This colors would be applied to none of your Mechs and would be used only if you´re playing in a group. The catch is that, if you are the group leader, these three colors would replace the three in the channels of every guy in your group AS LONG AS THEY ARE DROPPING WITH YOU (their Mechbays are untouched). They keep whatever pattern they have, just the colors change.

It would be a sort of group deal in which individual clans could divide the costs (sending money for the usual clan leader) of painting a 8 man group for the price of 4 or 5 Mechs. Also allow for easy spending clan members to support, at the same time, the game and fellow clanners who are short on cash.

To avoid grief you could add a option to the Option Menu: "Accept Group Colors" - so that people could disable having colors forced on them.

When we get to play 8 vs 8 again it would be a thrill to be able to sport your clan colors even if one or two guys in your group can´t afford them.

Anyone likes that idea?

That's really near to the idea I've had:

Why not designing Camo-Patterns for a Group/Clan/Corp, Piranha assimilate the Design in the Game (like the PC-Gamer Code) and after that every Group/Clan/Corp Member can get (buy) a Code to have access to this unique Pattern.

Of course, Piranha should not do this for free. I think most of the Groups/Clans/Corps here are willing to spend some bucks for getting a unique Pattern, similar for all Members and to use on every Mech (again, like the PC Gamer Pattern).

Yeah, what you suggest would be even cooler, but I think it is a bit complicated, since they would have to include a pattern for every clan willing to pay, and those patterns would end up being downloaded to every single client.

My suggestion is less ambitious since it does not demand any new content being added to the game.
