So... haven't seen this build posted here, or anything like it, but damn if it doesn't do a TON of damage.

Endo Steel, DHS
XL250 Engine

Gauss Rifle w/ 3 tons ammo
3x SSRM2 w/ 2 tons ammo
2 Medium lasers

272 armor
18 head
Max torso armor, right arm
no armor left arm
31 armor legs

This thing does pretty insane damage... can fire continuously with all its weapons. Makes mincemeat of scouts, and can put down heavies pretty easily too, as long as its not focus fired too hard.

A bit fragile, but not too bad.

The build looks solid, if more risky than I'd like. 81 k/ph is enough to keep you out of trouble, Gauss for long, M.Las mid, Streaks for close/light mechs.

The things that bug me are using an XL in a Centurion, made worse by the gauss rifle in the arm. The Cents right arm and torso get blown off very often. No armor in the left arm means less in the way of the left torso. It's ridiculous how much 2 M.Las can do, and the XL gets rid of the "It's only a flesh wound" factor.

I'll keep this build on record for If I want to elite a CN9-A, better than what I can think up for it.

I've built the exact same thing back in closed beta. You need to drop the XL if you wanna brawl, otherwise you need to hang back. The centurion's strength is that it can keep on fighting as long as it has a head, CT, and a leg. XL turns it into an easy target. That being said, it's a great build, lotta fun, and once you learn its strengths, can go 1 on 1 against pretty much anything.

I have yet to try it with a UAC5. It may up your total damage simply by having more chances to fire, plus extra screen shake. That would save you 6 tons to swap back to a Standard engine. Your ballistic DPS will more than double, as long as the arm survives.

I've tried Guass, AC2, AC5, AC10, and LBX10 in the ballistic arm.

The more I play the centurion the less I am inclined to put too much firepower in the arm itself.

Previously I had
AC10
x3 SSRM2's
x2 Medium Lasers

Currently I've downgraded that AC10 to a AC2.

I did this because the AC10 was my medium range jousters weapon, once I got in close to the 270m range I just went full auto on chaining the Streaks. I couldn't sustain the Heat build up. Don't get me wrong it was great for the first few alpha's before the heat swamped me but shutting down in the middle of a match was a death sentence.

So I downgraded to the AC2 clipped on more heat sinks and can now use both my Meds and Streaks up close and personal which deals a LOT of damage. Which leaves me with the AC2 to keep the preasure on opponents and makes an effective suppression tool.

The Gauss was just TOO heavy.

The AC/2 runs hotter than AC/5 due to fire-rate, both have 1 heat per shot.
